Couple of roads closed off this morning for no apparent reason. Then a neighbour told me why:

Not if you've to take a massive detour to do your daily ASDA run it's not! ;D
Talking of birds though, there was a murder in my garden yesterday afternoon! :o
I heard a horrible squealing noise outside and when I went out to investigate, I saw that a hawk (or similar) had caught a small bird for it's tea! ::)
Peggy, a female blackbird with one leg has been a regular visitor recently, but hasn't been seen since..... :-\

STMO is happy to put up with the inconvenience if it helps his feathered friends. :)

Probably a sparrowhawk. Had a similar incident here. Very sad for victim, but very interesting to see one close up.

Just finishing my bike ride the other day and saw two sparrows harassing a magpie. When i got closer i could see that the magpie had a just fledged chick in it's beak. The parent sparrows were making a hell of a row to no avail. Nature is so cruel sometimes. ???

That's probably a good call Shack, as it wasn't a big bird. :y
Still no sign of Peggy... :(
