Like a lot of people, I have been worried about the large amount of petrol my miggy uses.
So I asked Mr Dusty if he could secure me, an economical runabout with cheap running costs, insurance, maintenance etc. I would never sell my Miggy, but I would be choosing to use it more sparingly.
Now Mr Dusty (Name changed) is a regular member of this forum, and is supposed to know a fair bit about cars. We like to work independantly on this forum, as we feel it enables us to say what we wish, without people knowing we are a married couple.
So Mr Dusty as I shall call him, will remain anonymous. :P :P :P :P
So, Mr Dusty goes to buy my new economical car. I await eagerly for him to come home, to see what he has bought me. He turns into the drive with my new car, I look at it and think........ this can't be right.
I was expecting something along the lines of, a small Peugeot, maybe a Fiesta or a Golf, or maybe a Corsa or Astra at the outside.
So what does mr Dusty turn up with?....................A Jaguar X Type 3.0 SE Auto!
It looks lovely but, this is not going to be economical I say to myself. I ask him to show me the reading on the trip computer. 18.9 MPG. :( :o :o :o
Mr Dusty says he had to check it was running properly. I asked him what in the world possessed him to by me this? His reply was "seemed like agood idea at the time".
That's the only explanation I'm going to get.
But now I've driven it, it's lovely. But I don't like it as much as my Miggy. So now instead of 1 gas guzzling car we have 2 gas guzzlers. Oh well that's life :-* :-* :-*

Life's full of dissapointments, i'm sure you'll survive.
If you're really not happy i'll relieve you of your burden for the reasonable sum of, say £500? Should buy you a nice little 106 etc.
I'm all heart me, help anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I love surprises like that Dusty, you lucky girl! :D :y
Now you have an even more expensive car to run (who wants a little, cheap, sluggish / slow runnabout anyway! ::) ::)) look at it this way. You now have two cars and you want to use the cheapest as the main daily runnabout; for that you have the miggy! What's wrong with that?! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)
I have always believed in extracting a good positive out of a perceived negative! ;D ;)

Hi Lin
Thanks. The plants you refer to are Russian Vine sometimes called the mile a minute plant, and for good reason. Originally we tried to contain it, but have now admitted defeat. :-*

Next door neighbour planted some. It's bl00dy everywhere! >:( It can grow faster than you can dig it out.
Where can I get some Agent Orange? :-? :y

Yep they're a nightmare Dusty we had one years ago growing over the shed and had to end up killing it off, now its a honeysuckle doing the same thing and needs someone up a ladder to cut it all back before it hides the shed completely.

Best not to complain to much Dusty.
An X-type beats beats a Pug 106 or Fiesta in a game of Top Trumps anyday. :y :y :y
