Hi All
decided to spend a bit of cash on the omega and keep it for a while at least.
Question for you guys is, I am probably going down the Poly bush route for the wishbones and ARB bushes.
I have found this company ( Strongflex) whose prices seem much cheaper than Powerflex.
Also Powerflex only seem to list one of the 2 bushes for the wishbone along with ARB bushes , where as Strongflex list BOTH the wishbone bushes and the ARB bushes .
As I read it £66 for the lot . .. . am I right here and has anybody used these
https://strongflexuk.com/product-category/opel-vauxhall/
By the "Lot " I mean 2 pairs of front wishbone bushes and a pair of anti roll bar bushes ;)

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FIT THE REAR/VERTICAL BUSH.
OK Doc . . .will certainly take note of that . . . it was gonna be an on going question. . . . why is the rear/vertical bush NOT made by powerflex.
Can you advise why ? or what effect fitting it would have . Sounds serious for you to post in capitals

yep that works . . .just looking now . . .Thanks :y

Wow ! :o wont be getting those then . . . looks like catastophic failure of the wishbone itself :o :o :o
So will these Strongflex ones be ok for the other one and the ARB ?
-
I havent heard of them so cant comment on quality. The fact that they include a polybush for the rear wishbone bush is concerning. Shows a lack of understanding of how the suspension works imo.
-
They weren't Strongflex ones, but of the different types tried by myself and others had 100% failure rate.
Powerflex work well on the Omega and are the tried and tested, if more expensive, choice :y
-
Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the poly ARB bushes. The standard rubber ones rarely give problems, and are much cheaper.
-
True. Ive never had to renew them on any Omega Ive owned.
-
Another NO vote on changing the rear bush on the front wishbone for polyurethane, stick to original & don’t ask me how I know
-
Ok chaps thanks for the replies . . . .thinking that we have probably covered these bad issues with poly for the rear bush in the past on here . . . just can't remember it . . . Sad state I'm in nowadays ;D ;D
Just gonna stick with a pair of the usual german imports . .ATP type ones for the moment.
(Apologies to TB . . .I know he hates them . . but they suit me and a few others on here :P :P )

You could then refurb the original GM wishbones at your leisure. Polybushes at the front, GM bushes at the rear and new balljoints if needed.
Followed by wheel alignment at Tyre smart Witham. :y
-
Price works out more than the ATP kit, especially if allow for the track rods and droplinks ;)
Then refurbish the ones you take off ready for the next one :y

A couple of years ago it was around £75. You need to make sure the front and rear track rods are freed off before you go though. This often involves new rear track rods at £100 a pair. ::)
If you get to the point where you are ready to take it for alignment, give me a shout and I will see if I can come over and say hello.
Also need to give them the WIM settings rather than standard ones. If you dont have them let me know.

I'm interested to know what the WIM setting are too please, I'd like to try them for my road MV6.
