I've been absent from the forum for ages as I've been more in hospital than out of it, with deteriorating kidney. I am now being prepared for dialysis - not a good prospect - and will effectively be house/hospital bound.
I started the Omega for the first time since last November (when I broke my hip bone) and I expected it to be reluctant to wake up, even if only to pressurise the fuel line, but amazingly it started immediately, was lumpy for about 5 seconds and ran normally!
Now I am readying it for MOT next week: all fluids sorted, cleaning headlight lenses and only the emissions light to put out.
Wish me luck?
Ron.

Fingers crossed :y

All the best Ron, for both you and the car :y :y

Yes.....what the girlie says.
And don't touch up the nurse. :)
-
All the very best Ron lad. :y
-
Let me know if you need assistance with the emissions light Ron. :y
-
Clearly a survivor ,I'm sure everything will be fine,
and good luck with YOUR health too Ron ;D
the doctors can do wonders now
-
I wondered the other day where you were . . .so good luck mate with both your health and the omega.
Regards, Al :y

Sorry to hear about your health issues Ron, I guess dialysis must be like having a regular oil change? ??? :-\ ;) :)
Good news on the Omega though. :y
-
I'm touched by all of your good wishes, folks. Thank you all.
It's not exactly like an oil cane, Sir Tig: three days a week for several hours on a machine, every week - forever! It severely limits my leisure activities and means that I can never again go on holiday.
Bu still, the alternative is even worse.....
Ron.
-
Apologies for the flippancy Ron. :-[ It is obviously life changing and is a challenging time for you. :(
Any chance of a transplant? :-\
-
3 days a week surrounded by sexy nurses
you must be really upset Ron ;D
-
Never mind once the Omega is done you can go for a nice run in that :y there’s some great places around in the UK you could stay for a night or two maybe :y

but do book an eye test before you go......
-
What are you trying to say, Nick? Nothing rude, I hope!
Ron.
-
Ha ha :y
-
Stay strong Ron, you sound like a matter of fact guy & that attitude will get you through it I'm sure, good luck with it all and enjoy the Omega they are excellent cars and I still regret selling mine.
-
Doesn't the modern eye test involve jumping in your car and driving many miles for a day out to prove it's good enough??
-
Oh Baz that’s not very becummings of you :y

... I still regret selling mine.
Piffle.
If that were actually true, either you wouldn't have sold it or you'd have bought another one ::)

.
Not "piffle" as you so elequentley put it, I don't say things for the sake of trying to "wind people up " which seems to be a trait of yours in a lot of cases, why I change my cars is my business & personal choice I still consider my Omega one of the best cars I've ever owned ,if not the best pound for pound value wise & yes sometimes wish I had kept it which causes my feelings of regret.
Such a shame that people judge by their standards .And Ron I envy you in still owning one.
-
Who's judging anyone? ???
I merely observed that if you genuinely regretted selling your Omega, then you would have either kept it or bought another... ::)
Perhaps Ron will be kind enough to take you out for a spin in his every so often. ;)
-
Ron. You have PM. Need to know when your MOT is. :y
-
That sounds like a drag. But as you say, the alternative is even less desirable. All the best.
-
Good luck Ron , I hope your health takes a turn for the better .
