Title: EU hilarity

Hungary and Poland are both vetoing the latest EU budget.

And all because they don't want to be forced to contribute to the central immigration pot. Unfortunately, unless they all agree, Brussels can't do much else as it's a feature of the budget as a whole rather than a point of debate ;D

It goes deeper than that. Both Poland and Hungary refuse to pander to the EUs policy on LGBT rights, gay marriage/adoption and a few other things. This budget is to form a pot from which to pay countries who are suffering adversely from Covid-19 (all of them?), and the EU will not pay out to any country which doesn't abide by these rules/laws.
Good on them, I say, refusing diktats from the generals in Brussels. This was always the problem with the EU, it's fine on paper, but both financially and culturally it's a complete mismatch.

True, it is the latest in a series of issues that they have stood against, and whereas Italy tends to roll over (it needs the cash) Poland and Hungary are consistently standing their ground, and rightly so :y

You get the impression that the E.U. is unravelling and will look very different in a few years ?
