It's just fickin gobbledegook, I have literally no idea what he's trying to achieve or how he's going about it. I'll just pretend I haven't got the time to look at it ;D
Obviously his girlfriend is doing something in the background (quiet Opti), so it is a joint enterprise, but I can't hear what she's saying.

It's apparently called "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes". Like a difficult co op puzzle, one person has the bomb and the other has the manual and you have to describe how to defuse it...

I have to confess, I never did complete any of the MYST games (i still have the CD ROMs ,for "one day" )
and I too went out and made my own entertainment with the EVILS of women and drink ;D
