Title: Biden's first three days...
Post by: Doctor Gollum on 23 January 2021, 19:47:35
Not content with unemploying thousands of people and upsetting Canada (and all the now unemployed people there) by killing the pipeline, or rejoining WHO and the Paris accord unnecessarily and upsetting the Middle East...

Todays bright idea is to bring the Chinese into the US energy sector... The same sector, that until Wednesday evening was self sufficient.

And people claimed Trump was insane :-X

Within three days of taking office he's signed the paperwork to start three policies he campaigned on.

He's clearly a monster.

He's not a goose, he's the POTUS. Donald proved that POTUS can do as he likes, so he is, probably to piss Donald off...a bit.
Are we going to get daily reports from you for the next four years?  ;D

At this rate he might not make Easter :D

You're right of course, but it won't end well.

Joking aside, it's as though he is actively trying to screw the place up just to blame Trump without any thought to the consequences. If people genuinely voted for it, then that's on them.

But to answer your question, no.

He'll be fine. He knows he won't last the full term so his final act, just to piss you and Albs off, will be to let Kamela become the first female person of colour to be President of the United States.

I must have missed all your posts talking about the jobs that trump took out of the green energy sector by cutting the funding there as part of successive budgets, and even withholding allocated funding.

The greenists won't tell you that under Trumps policies, US greehouse emissions actually fell significantly  ::)

Trump often refused to fund anything that didn't have a positive cost analysis. If it would cost more to do than it saves, it isn't viable. This doesn't mean that it may not become viable, just that when the question was raised there were better/more deserving things ahead of it in the budget... If your roof leaks and the carpet is ruined, you replace the roof before the carpet ;)

As renewables cannot meet current energy demands. The reduction in renewable funding was justified by the fact that improvements can be, and were, made by improving how fossil fuels are consumed for less than the cost of developing renewables to the point of reliability. So there's that.

Yes, due to a shift away from coal power generation towards gas and (to a lesser extent) renewables.

The reversal of which was a key trump election promise ("Trump Digs Coal") which thankfully he didn't fulfill.

That was in part to win votes in West Virginia /Virginia and Kentucky... Good honest workers usually make for a solid voter base ;)

Isn't buying votes by sustaining unviable industries with government money close to the full neoMarxistpinkocommieLeninistoppsMaoismsocialistleftyAntifaliberalismantiAmericanscum policies that Republicans claim to hate?
Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

He actually meant it, as opposed to the coastal leftists who will say literally anything for a vote and then quite happily shit all over the very people they claim to be helping.

I think old Joe is probably pretty benign, and he owns a 1967 'Vette' so he can't be all bad. However, I doubt he will be in control of much.

Kamala will be the one holding the reins.

As for choosing the black version of David Duke to head up the DOJ.....words fail me. :-\

If Labour ever get back into power, I think David Lammy would be my pick for PM. Sadiq Khan or Diane Abbott  for his deputy.  ;D

If you're lucky, Liverpool might find the goal. Even their own would be an improvement...  ::)

If Liverpool keep losing I'll be a rich man, £236 up in the last 30 days. The bookies still think they are going to win for some reason. That £236 will increase if/when Man U win.  :)

That's why I don't gamble... I would lose a fortune supporting the team I wanted to win ;D

I've explained my mentality before. I back against Liverpool so that, if they lose, at least I get a bit of compensation. If they win, I don't care about losing the money. That outlook cost me dear last season, but we won the title, so I was happy. What with no crowd and stuff this season I'm finding it hard to get enthused, so a few Bob back is fine.

They've just equalised, btw.

I see China are testing Biden's nerve already. Large incursions into Taiwan's airspace over the last two days.

No, I didn't forget. As far as I can see, none of those things have affected him today.

For instance, even after the shit run Liverpool have had, the bookies still have them 11/10 favourites to win at Spurs on Thursday  :-\
