One of the builders we've had on site has had it away with the pin wrench for my 9" grinder. ::)
I've bought a couple of replacements from Toolstation, machine mart and the like, but all seem to be made of 99p/tonne monkey metal and bend on first or second use.
Anyone got a decent tip on where to buy one, without buying a grinder along with it?

Pin spanner? How quaint 8)
Get yourself one of THESE (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quick-Change-Angle-Grinder-Locking-Nut-M14/264913205067?hash=item3dae0eb74b:g:kRUAAOSwsgtflooo)for each grinder you own.
That was the first one that in my search.
If you're bending them, you're massively over-tightening the nut; I find I can adequately tighten a 4.5" disc by hand without a spanner. Although I wouldn't do that on a 9"

Looking at that link, if you wanted to nip beyond finger tight (say, on a bigger grinder as you mention), how would you? I cant see any flats to put a spanner on?

It's a clutch, so finger tight replicates the spanner use. I used mine on the 9" grinder until somebody stole the grinder.
The whole point is to make the spanner unnecessary.
I should have been clearer about tightening by hand: I find that using a normal nut and tightening the disc by hand is adequate without the spanner. I haven't used a pin-spanner on grinders for years.

Ah, understood now :y

Thanks Nick, I had no idea these existed. 8)
TBF, I typically tightened the disc using minimal force, but it seemed to tighten up in use (maybe by design?). Only on my large grinder though. The smaller ones don't do it ???
Nevertheless, that product you linked looks a much better idea all around.

Simple design, although I fell out with Milwaukee when they (a) charged me nearly £25 for a 1/2" to hex adapter and (b) too three weeks to deliver the tinker.

Pays to choose your suppliers carefully ;)

Is it just me that unplugs the grinder and uses the disc as leverage to undo/do up the nut?

I do that for things the fancy gizmo doesn't fit; soft grinding discs, cup wheels etc.
