Decided to treat us to a takeaway tonight.
Used the shop before, but last time thier food was overcooked. So ordered a Cheese burger and a small Pizza & make a point of asking them not to overcook/brown the pizza, order time before delivery was an estimated 45/60 mins :y
Ordered at 9.28 (Estimated delivery time:22:45 - 23:05 when order placed) :-\
Order arrived around 10.30pm so not too bad, but I made a point of checking the pizza before he left, and yes it was burnt. The driver confirmed on the reciept that I had asked DO NOT BURN/BROWN EDGES, he politelty advised to wait a while and then ring the shop and they would send a replacement.
So did as suggested, as soon as they knew it was a complaint the buggers hung up. Rang them back, spoke to the manager/owber this time and was offered a replacement but I declined that, asked for a refund but was asked to do it via Justeat as the money was delt with through them.
Sorted that via email (Pending) and then went off to find a contact number on google. (No joy)
So I was led to believe the law changed a few years ago and all UK sites had to give Phone contact details.
Plus found this,

How did you pay?
Credit card or PayPal, you've got protection, if Just Eat try and avoid it. You do have cover with debit cards, but less so.

Allways pay using Credit Card online. Justeat, amazon etc :y
I will give them a few days, things may have improved, if not then I will expect a free meal from the Pizza shop next week, if not then refund on CC and lots of bad rateings for both the shop & Justeat.
Amazon I had to have a few refunds because of non delivery. 95% of the sellers deal with the problem instantly, 5% that wont or are awkward I just ring Amazon and they deal with it.

If I want a pizza I take it out of the freezer and put it in the oven.
Not overly difficult. :)

Yes......What have teenage delivery boys been touching before they touch your pizza. ;D

I think you have to pay extra for that.

Swmbos birthday yesterday which we spent on London with Daughter, son and his fiance.
After a long walk around some of the sights Daughter took us to her favourite, open air rooftop restaurant in trendy Shoreditch.
The food was several platters of bits & pieces of everything and anything. Not bad, but a bit mediocre if Im honest.
A bottle of beer was £6 and the cocktails the girls were drinking were £13 each !
We were allowed the great privilege of having our table for two hours and the bill at the end of this extravaganza was just short of £300 ! :o :o
Tried hard to pay our share, but Daughter wouldnt hear of it and insisted on paying the whole fickin lot.
She has a heart of gold, but daft as a brush, bless her. ::)
-
but daft as a brush
Where does she get that from, Uncle Albert?
-
I cant imagine. ??? :-\ ;D

Would never dream of ordering fast food , I like to cook & so does SWMBO , have seen some of the delivery drivers they use round here that's enough to put anyone off.

Agreed. Think that getting it delivered is just the lazy way out. Sorry Skruntie ;D. If i fancy a takeaway, fish n chips mostly, i go and get it myself.
-
If you must order a food delivery, make it a red hot Indian. At least you know exactly what you're getting, something so hot that they really can't spoil it, and a sore ring the next morning.

Not too hot. A Tiffins Lamb Naga was just about perfect, until they were raided by immigration for the last time....

TBH the last year has seen an explosion in food delivery services, FFS you can even get McD's & Greggs delivered! Who the hell would want that?
But really if anyone actually thinks about it, the supplier has to make money, the delivery service has to make money, and the customer expects 5* food and service for peanuts. It ain't gonna happen. It's like people who fly Ryanair and think that they're BA 1st Class. Nope.
For the cost of most delivered take aways, I can do a cracking, quick 'n easy dinner, with some foresight to get stuff for the freezer.
I see "Just Eat" and I instantly think "crap food".
-
If I want a McDongals, I go to one. If I want a takeaway, then I will ring up and go and get it. That said, if it is more convenient to have a curry/chinese/pizza delivered then I will do that.
The usual 'fast food' suspects struggle to produce hot food, so the idea of paying extra for someone to deliver it slower than I could get it myself and then have to microwave it when it finally arrives makes no sense.

Poor old Skruntie's gone a bit quiet on this thread! ;D

If I'm desperate for something to eat it has to be a sausage sarnie always plenty of proper butchers sausages in our freezer 👍

Mrs Opti makes all our food from scratch.
Very rarely will we eat a pizza, or other processed crap.
Is it any surprise that the UK s full of fat bastards.... ;D
-
Look at a picture of a poor working class kid from the Victorian era. He/she will be short, thin, undernourished, underweight and generally emaciated.
Poor people in 2021 may be overweight due to eating an excess of cheap high calorie processed crap.

.
The trouble with a lot of processed food its cheap & filling but absolutely no good at all for the body, there's enough information available about it now ,but people either ignore it or don't want to change anyway.

Processed food gets most of it's calories from fat.
Obviously processed crap was not around to the same extent in the Victorian era.
Fat Victorian waif is not something you'd see back in the time of Jack the Ripper. :)

I like in Brakkers. I have no idea what Just Eat and Deliveroo are ;D
We have a chip shop. If I fancy chips, I wander down, and treat myself to a bag of them, and scoff them as I walk back home. Nom nom nom.

Similar story here. Often using produce grown in the garden. Apart from any health benefits, it tastes delicious. Like I remember food tasting when I was a kid.
She made some Cornish pasties the other day, and I have never tasted a better one. Not even in cornwall. :)

I understand that, but locally it seems if we order direct the food is cheaper and delivery charges are different to the just Just eat prices. :-\
Me thinks tax & vat differes on how you buy your food :-X

Ohhhh....that is below the belt, Sir Tig. I believe the 'shelled rodent' cost him half a Boxster. Surely it would have been cheaper to win one at the funfair. ::) ::) ::) ;)

Showing your age there M'lud. I don't believe that you can even win a goldfish at the fair any more. :P

Do Arabian moors not count any more then?
-
I thought it was blackamoor.
-
Quite unusual......but you're wrong ;D
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telescope_(goldfish)
Black Moor[edit]
The highest quality black moors have a velvety appearance and no metallic scales.
The black moor is a black colored variant of a telescope goldfish that has a characteristic pair of protruding eyes. Black telescopes are commonly known as Black Moors, Blackamoors (archaic)[4] or just Moors, a reference to the black North African Muslim inhabitants of Al-Andalus.
-
Well....wrong about goldfish (of which we were talking) but right about black Africans.
