I ordered from eBay a fortnight ago with an expected deliver date of 10 days ago. Messaged the seller .... zilch messaged a few days later to say that if I didn't receive the item soon I'd raise it with eBay .... no item or response.
Raised a complaint with eBay this morning and within minutes had a reply from eBay to say that the money £52 would be credited to my bank account within the next few days.
Can't say fairer than that! :y :y

It's always good to hear that they solved problems. Now if they'd let me use my account without me giving them unrestricted access to my bank account, I might consider returning.

Having the same debate... I don't sell enough on there to justify a dedicated account to protect my money, but equally if the alternative is Faceachebook marketplace :-\
Apparently they still accept PayPal as a payment method, but I wonder if they would honour a refund to a PayPal account or if they would insist on a registered bank account...

You need a bank account attached to sell on there now. It's not fully in force yet, but I've already stopped selling. At the moment, I'm checking prices on eBay and then buying stuff from elsewhere. Or alternatively, if it's something like a used car part, most sellers are businesses, so I look up the name of the business and contact them directly. Often it's cheaper too.

I only buy from eBay ... I've only ever sold the odd few items.
And eBay are refunding me to my bank account & not my PayPal acc.

Bought & sold on eBay never had a problem , never sell anything on there now use our local auction house pays much better even after their commission.

Im planning on selling a few odds & ends on ebay for the first time in several years.
Will see how it goesafter hearing mixed reports from various sources recently.

I went into the online chat to ask if there was an alternative. I was told no. I explained, there are plenty of options for selling that don't charge let alone ask for unrestricted access to my bank account.

The refund is already in my bank acc :y

Yes but you haven’t got the goods. We have had the same. Seller claiming to be in the UK. Then after waiting and querying where it is, get a refund.

True .... but while waiting for the eBay seller I bought from elsewhere which arrived the next day. eBay responded within about 10 mins of me escalating the complaint and offered the refund, which as said arrived a few hours later.
Still no response for the seller ....

Normally they push you to wait for the seller to respond. Of course, you may not have been the first complaint about this seller.
