Some problems with daughter's Astra J 2010, petrol 1.6.
Right rear indicator does not work, also tail light does not work in right side. New bulb did not help, perhaps earth problem or somethin more serious?? In right side front, both indicators are blinking (quickly) - located in wing and below bumper.
Left side rear ok, blinking quickly. In front both does not work. Heard (only heard) that new bulbs did not help.
Car is 150 km from me so have to take a look when I get it home. Just would like to know whether something typical for Astra to check.
Below is a fuse map from Astra Pages. Cannot find any fuse for indicators. Please help.

The fast flashing is due to reduced load on the flasher relay, usually due to a failed bulb and normal behaviour.
New bulbs can be faulty or incorrectly fitted.
Also the indicators may be powered directly from the body control module so that could also be faulty.

the fact that two different lights on the same unit are not working could be an iffy connection between the plug & the light unit or an iffy earth connection from it. :-\ :-\

Thanks for comments, I get the car home on Saturday.
Earths, bulbs etc. simple things (I am just a simple man) I can check. If it is Body Control Module that is something new for me.
If it is that is it expensive part?
Do it have to be programmed by GM dealer or is it just plug and play.
Even if I have left hand drive is the control module in right side of the central console in floor level? All figures welcome.
I report back on Saturday.

There are usually at least two, and they are generally behind each fuse panel.
But start with the simple things... Cheap bulbs, loose bulb holders corroded connections etc.
Also try the hazard switch and see if the failed bulbs are still failed ;)

One body control module on the Astra J and given the front lights are working on that side then I would be checking the ground points also (as they are actually wired off a common FET feed).

Ok, you mean if front main lights are working etc. (I remember they work). So is something grounded with FET (Field Effect Transistor) or is that some kind of slang. I understand basics of electronics so controlling ground side with FET in a car is something new for me. So are these ground points located somewhere else than close to the bulb? Sorry about this language problem...

So the BCM will have a high side (12V) FET (Field Effect Transistor) switch will turns all the lighting for the Right (separate to left to meet safety) side on when the switch or auto lights select. Similarly another separate FET drive will operate the indicators.
The fact you have an indicator and a side light issue you need to consider what is the one common thing for these separate circuits, and the only real thing is the ground point (plus the cable loom, but you would need to lose multiple wires at once which is less likely).

Astra is home now:
1. In cabin fuse box the fuse No.2 is burned.
2. Internal cabin lights work when door opened.
3. Internal "Map Lights" (separate buttons close to internal cabin lights) do not work, bulbs ok.
4. Sun Visor Mirror light do nor work when mirror flap opened.
5. Left Rear indicator blinks when put on, Right Front wing and bumper indicator blinks when put on.
6. All front and tail lights and brake lights are ok.
7. Tow bar (electricity as well) installed 10 years ago, not tested resently.
8. Fuse No.2 is burned when replaced with new one, door open ignition off, tested twice.
Fuse 2 ad 3 are exterior lights acc to link.

I heard that these fuses have something to do with indicator lights and cabin lights, too.
Urgent help needed, which circuits this fuse No.2 protects. I can step by step start to take wires off if I get info which.

Thanks for activity, Hazard light blink but in those mentioned corners only.
Now circut diagram for fuse 2 is needed. Where to find?
Now I have to start to open connectors in different places to see, it's a 20A fuse so some kind of short somewhere. Perhaps I disconnect the body control module, too. All test ideas welcome.

Here it is seen thar this fuse is for Body Control Module K9. Is it the one in the right side of the central consol?

Does the Astra J have a REC ?
might be fuse links blown in that :-\
has the car got a tow bar fitted ? or any other aftermarket electrical hacked into the electricary :-\
REC = rear electrical centre = fuse box in the boot
I've seen the wrong bulbs fitted (LED, twin element in single sockets and vise versa) before on cars causing issues too .

Yes, three fuse boxes. In engine "room", second under dash and third in the boot. Tow bar fitted 10 years ago. I took this morning the whole tow bar module (in boot) off from its wires but it did not help. The fuse No. 2 burns immediatey after installation even if ignition not on (door open). All other rear lights ok. Could wrong fitted bulb burn fuse if ignition not on and winkle in center position? No bulbs installed resently. Resent job jobbed is new timing kit according to your good tips but this in not the case...

so something is a direct short then ,
have you checked all the modules for stored fault codes ?
if you have checked the clusters already :-\
with clusters unplugged does fuse 2 or 3 blow ?
I guess the next step would be open the BCM and check for obvious damage to PCB :-\ trace the wiring from fuse 2 and 3 of the cabin/dashboard to BCM to check for damage to that loom
then check the loom from clusters to BCM

Towbar socket/wiring... Especially if it has a direct feed to the battery.

Are clusters same as these modules. I took away towbar module. It did not change anything. Was your idea to take connectors off from the BSM itself or in the other end. BCM has 7 connectors, each of them have 10-20 wires. if No. 5 is BCM here in the link below are the rest those clusters you talk about.

Can you take off connectors from BCM, I read here that have to do some prepare work "Prepare body control module for replacement, refer to . Control Module References" but cannot open the references

Today I realized that glove box light does not work. I changed pollen filter two weeks ago and I really do not know did the winklers work after that. In LH cars you have to remove glove box to achieve the filter. If I have short cut the light wires there that would be an option but very impropable.
If the whole BCM is broken is it an expensive part?

Unplugging the towbar module is not the same as the socket at the towbar...
If the socket corrorodes it could short any of the lighting/power wires to ground. All the factory wiring does is loop from the lights to the control module.
The glove box is new information... I would start there.

OK, start from glow box.
So from the towbar socket comes a thick cable. Two wires were connected to car frame in the boot and rest went to this module. I took the wires off from the module + another connector off as well. The other had thick red and thick brown which I thought were the feed. So the whole socket was the off I think.

Strange! Glowbox Light wires were tightly together against a Steel tube which goes from lef to right behind the glowbox. Fuse does not burn anymore. Everything work. My fault, but don't tell it to anybody. Thanks for all support.
