Title: Ford KA
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 03 June 2022, 10:56:49
One of the girls has an issue with her KA

Just been serviced and MOT done, Cars well looked after and was used a couple of days ago.

Today it wont start (just clicking) so 1st assuption is a flat battery. I have a NOCO starter thingy but cant sort till tomorrow.

Then it got mentioned that (On dashscreen message) coolant too hot engine stopped even though the car had not been started yet.  So now thinking it has a sensor somewhere - or a loose connection after the service causing an issue.

Any one had/got a KA and had this issue.

Any idea's?

Its a Ford not an Omega so I have no interest. :-X

What age/engine?

Not that I can help beyond that, but saves it being asked down the line...  ;)

I have owned 2 Fords

1 was a 3.0 Granada Auto (Part x for my Daimler Sovereign in a business deal )  Gearbox had no reverse and after fitting a new exhaust they forgot to refit the fuel pipe from the carb it then caught fire a was written off. :-X

I then bought an Escort van - that got stolen - damaged and set fire to. :-X

So no more Fords for Skruntie ::)

Now sorted, flat battery with corrosion on terminals. :-\
Looked at batteries for her on Halfords & ECP approx £90, Halfords out of stock when she got there, ECP had one in stock (Both checked by reg number by staff) then when at ECP was asked if it had the stop/start option (Yes) which meant a different battery type (£160) aparently has some sort of switching device in it.

We learn something new every day.   As I said I prefer Vauxhall ::)
