Title: The way that 'descriptions' change

I've often been corrected by wifey over the old fashioned terminology I use. As an example, I described a person as 'deaf and dumb', she quickly corrected me, it's now 'deaf mute'. Lots of others...Spastics, Mongolian...just terms I grew up with.
There is much consternation on the BBC this morning over the tagging of illegal immigrants, sorry, illegal migrants, because it treats them as criminals. Well, I thought, the clue is in the description.....illegal. But no, when a text appeared on screen, they are now 'irregular migrants', not illegal at all.
Now you know, please update your language accordingly  ;D

Oh.. I thought they were all desperate vulnerable asylum seekers escaping that dangerous war torn country that is France?  :-\                                       ;D

Spaz....cripple and mong were in common use during my school daze.

I didn't use such term though. 8)
