Hero or zero?
She still thinks Rwanda is a good idea
Plenty for her to get her teeth into until she makes the next mistake……
No libellous comments please.
-
She wants to stop the dinghys, she doesnt fit the stereotype of a white British racist, so the liberal MSM are out to ruin her.
Whether or not she has any capability or means of succeeding, I havent a clue, and I suspect we will never know.
-
She's too leftie. She should have the Navy just outside French waters using dingies as target practice....
...but I suspect we have too many middle class, white, female, Oxfordian do-gooders for that to be a popular choice.
-
And the RAF dropping a bomb on the Elysee palace every time a Dinghy leaves French waters. :y :)

It's amazing that they are more outraged that she accidently sent a document from the wrong email account and CC'd the wrong person, than they are about thousands of undocumented young men from Africa, the Middle East and Albania strolling into the country without a by yer leave! ::)
Well I suppose given that Britain's media are a bunch of political activist lying Tuesdays, it's not that amazing really... :-X

It’s crazy there’s hardly any women and kids, it’s a passive invasion
-
I hope she stays.
Not sure what she will actually get done though.
Very little is my guess unless she decides to go the TB and Albitz approved route as mentioned in this thread. :)
-
The Conservatives have been in power for 12 years.
They have done very little.
-

There seems to be a number of 30 year old men who insist they are really only 13. >:D

Aye seen that too👎🏿

There is an immense demographic change going to occur in UK in the next 10 to 20 years which will destroy the way of life we/you know today .
Brace yourself .....

Ahh, I’m one of the lucky ones, I’ll be toast by then🤣

The (politically) awkward thing is that the UK needs significant immigration to deal with our ever decreasing ratio of working people to non working. Kids are entering the workforce later, working fewer hours for wages (and therefore taxes) that aren't rising as fast as the pension bill. Which no politician would dare change as all the wrinklies vote in huge numbers.
The problem is that "being tough" (which they aren't btw) on the types of immigration that people rightly don't want, makes the UK less appealing to the type of people we need. :D
-
I dont buy that tbh. We are told that employers in hospitality, farming and many other relatively low skilled industries have a dire shortage of workers. They blame Brexit and it causing the end of an almost infinite supply of low skilled / low paid workers.
There are over 1.5 million people claiming unemployment benefits in the UK, and thats without starting into how many shirkers have conned their way onto the disability gravy train.
There is a shortage of skilled workers in certain industries, but that can be solved the same way other major industrialised countries solve it.
Issue work permits to foreign workers for as long as they are needed. After X years they can if they wish, apply for residency.

Officially Britain has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe and the Western World, the reality is that about 5 million people live on state benefits of one sort or another. :-\

This 'may' true but trying to sort this out with an endless supply of 'dark foreign johnnies' is not the answer.
When these people grow old we will need yet more young people from other countries and so it goes round in a never ending loop until Britain is no longer Britain. This is already the case in certain parts of the UK.
-

There is an issue that employers aren't paying enough for people to do certain jobs (supply and demand working not the way they want it to). But, the number of over 65's went up about 23% from 2009 to 2019, vs an overall population increase (including the 'mass immigration' everyone gets so worked up about) of 7%. The government reckons that in 20yrs time 25% of the uk population will be over 65 - 17.4m people.
Even if you could manage to turf everyone off employment benefit and into jobs that are well paid enough fpr them to pay a reasonable level of tax, you can't bridge the gap without a lot of immigration. Particularly while every government remains obsessed with the triple lock on pensions, which even a simpleton can see isn't sustainable in the long term.
-
This 'may' true but trying to sort this out with an endless supply of 'dark foreign johnnies' is not the answer.
I don't disagree, we need skilled people of working age to do the jobs we need them to do. The problem is that these people are by definition very geographically mobile and have a choice of where they ply their trade. A decade or two of cheap political stunts, such as this 'hostile environment bollix', shipping a handful of people to Rwanda and some of the rhetoric the leave campaign used isn't going to attract those people. If they are going to goto the effort of moving to a different country, why would they bother coming here?
At the moment we seem to be achieving two own goals at the same time. Firstly by not actually controlling problematic immigration and secondly by making ourselves unattractive to the type of migrants we do want/need :-\

The pensioner time bomb is only going to get worse.
It appears the first state pension was implemented by the Liberal government in 1908. It was 7/6d ( about £23 today) and only given to those over the age of 70.
This was fine because.......The amount was small and most people died well before 70 usually of pox or consumption. ::) and also because there was probably 30 people of working age to each pensioner.
Not sure of the exact figure but I think there are less than 3 people of working age to each coffin dodger in 2022. It is not sustainable. :-\
-
The real answer is to shrink the state. We now live in a Socialist country, regardless of who wins elections.
Much of the population is addicted to welfare in one form or another.
It needs to change fundamentally so that all but the most genuinely helpless stand on their own feet and provide for themselves, and that includes providing for their old age.
And also providing for non emergency healthcare. The NHS (now the GHS) is an impossibly expensive experiment that just hasnt worked.
Of course its now well past the point where a Government can try to do this, because buying votes with future generations money is how they win power, and stay in power.
So,I go back to what I said a couple of months ago. This country (in fact the Western world) is fooked.
Its beyond hope. It has been destroyed from the inside out by the liberal left.
-
Is it bad that I think Rwanda is a good idea also...........
Yes. Very bad. You're showing your liberal leftie side...
...TB for President. I'll show them a proper deterrent.
TBH, how can anyone claim asylum in the UK. They should claim it in the first safe country, then use the official methods to move to other countries.
-
It seems everyone you discuss this with are saying what we are, how is it able to go on, where are the supporters surely they are the minority, how are they having it their way in a so called democracy? And I don’t just mean on here it’s very much almost everybody I speak to anyway.
-
The European court of human rights has a lot to do with it (as of course does the mainstream media). It was a good idea supported by the British after WW2, but like most of the other levers of power, it has been hiacked by the so called liberal left.

He's busy plotting with Jeremy kHunt to decide what taxes to hike and by how much. 25% VAT anyone? >:(
Meanwhile the Bank of England is to start selling off its stockpile of government bonds..... at a loss! ::)
It's OK though as the Treasury will cover the losses, which will amount to around £11bn this year. :o
So it's fine for hard pressed British taxpayers to cover losses on bonds that the Bank of England doesn't have to sell, but cutting taxes was impossible. Apparently. :-X

She was employed for the same reason Boris was made foreign secretary: to appease their followers until they opps up badly enough to be banished to the back benches forever. It's a risky strategy when the entire cabinet is utterly useless.
-
On the other hand - if she were to succeed in stopping the dinghies coming, and the economy returns to something like normal (whether by circumstance or design), the Tories would walk the next election.
And then she would be after Rishi,s job.

Because the UK is seen as the nicer option with the best benefits.
Look at the shit storm over the detention centre, if where they have come from is so bad then a few months there will be plain sailing with food, water and basic shelter on tap
I have always said, we have two options, make life for an assylum seeker in the UK harder than that in France, or get our hands in our pockets, pay more tax and suck it up.....

Under almost any circumstances the vast majority of immigrants will be of the low skills variety. They will pay little or no tax with many having their meagre earnings topped up by tax credits which the tax payer will need to source.
The Tories may not like people turning up on the South coast in rubber boats but they do love the cheap labour they provide.
The Tory party has been wedded to cheap low skill labour for as long as I can remember. Not good. :-X
-
Is that true or just a soundbite?
How many low skill workers in the uk could find their way to say Syria, Afghanistan or an African country? How many having done their travelling would have say 2000 shekels for a sea crossing at the hands of smugglers? I suspect you need resilience and initiative to undertake such a journey.
It would be interesting to see breakdowns of language skills, education level etc.

I doubt there are large numbers of Doctors, teachers, engineers......etc...etc arriving in rubber boats or clinging to the underside of the Eurostar.
Such people would be able to arrive here using appropriate methods perfectly legally.
-
Approx. half of those arriving now are young men from Albania. They will joining in the organised crime groups (the majority of these in the UK are now run by Albanians) producing and distributing drugs among other illegal profit making ventures,, and running "Turkish" barber shops to launder the criminal money through.

A 'Turkish' barber shop has recently sprung up near here.
I rarely see anyone having their hair cut, but I bet the accounts show healthy income and expenditure.
Especially allowable expenditure. :-X
-
A few " dodgy" foreign shops sprung up in town here over the last few years, very rarely see anyone in them but I have seen suitcases being taken from the boot of a Bentley & placed in the boot of an Aston Martin twice when out walking the dog in the evening.

Turn off minimum wage. Permanently.
It sets the going rate to a minimum at the expense of free market and the resultant wage increases and fundamentally fuels inflation.
Living wage can follow closely behind. If you want someone to work for you in an area where housing is expensive, either pay a fair wage and provide accommodation/housing or pay the market rate for the position respective of the local housing cost.
Equally, if you can't afford to live on the wages you earn, work more and/or move to somewhere where you can.
Hardly rocket science.
-
Indeed, not rocket science, just common sense.

About 17%
That does not mean the remaining 83% are of English/British ethnicity. Far from it.

Cruise liner, one way trip to Albania.
That is a lot of Albanian gangsters.

One in six living here now we’re not born in Britain
Is that using the entire population? The first thing to do when presented with a statistic is to perform a plausibility check: count all the people you know, and check how many of them weren't born here. Of all the friends, family and people I meet regularly there are four who weren't born here: a German, Pole, South African and my French cousin who is a British citizen through her mother. That would imply a sample size of 24 people. I doubt this is particularly unusual.
Now consider that 21%(one in five; a close number) of the population is under 18 and perform similar calculations.
Also, the birth rate has fallen lower than is necessary to keep the population stable, creating an aging population which in turn leads to a potential finance crisis. This is common throughout the western world.
None of that means we shouldn't control out borders better. Considering that Britain is an island, that ought to be easier than France or Germany which have immigration problems of their own. The only way to stop the illegal immigration that is the real problem is to make it worse for them here than at home. Anyone who wants to do that to their own country is a oppsing idiot.
-
London makes for some interesting population statistics.
Best figure I can find is that overall London is now only 44.9% British white. The borough of Newham comes out at only 29% white.
John Cleese recently said that he 'didn't recognise' London these days. Of course, he was promptly slapped down as a white racist bigot. ::)

When. I saw the 1 in 6 figure , I googled and found this . https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/migrants-in-the-uk-an-overview/
Seems about right.
As a Johnny Foreigner living in Spain, I am only too aware of how the locals view “ us”. Some Spanish friends no longer use their nearby cafe due to Brits who turn up regularly and dominate the environment talking loudly in a foreign language ( English)
Back on the subject of dubiuos Albanians. Why not take them back by cruise ship to Albania for vetting by Albanian police ?. That could be a very drawn out process leading to them deciding to go home.

I presume Manston still has a runway? ???
A daily shuttle to Tirana would be common sense, and would be quick and efficient particularly for people like this chap! (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11387023/Convicted-Albanian-murderer-allowed-continue-asylum-application.html) :-X
Alternatively, Doncaster airport (Robin Hood?) is closing down, so the Govt could requisition that for a processing/deportation centre. I'd imagine you could build a sizable tent/portacabin city for illegals in the grounds and daily 'rehoming' flights could depart for all the poor souls who have been trafficked here! :y
The media imply that those trafficked here are victims brought here against their will, so common sense implies in turn that they will be grateful for a free flight home! :)

Yes the law needs to be changed and quickly.
It would be nice if the Tories actually did something for the British people with that big majority we gave them! >:(
-
Steve, you sound like my type of MP go for it man I will give you 100% of my vote too👍 TB will be a good henchmen to have on your shoulder too from what I’ve learned here over the years👍👍👍
It’s not nice coming home from a hard days work and knowing you’re paying for these idiots to just throw taxpayers cash away when there is a real need here for our own folk such as pensioners and veterans, not to mention our own homeless people, why are they scorned in favour of someone who has illegally got here via sea who we don’t even know their criminal history for example? It makes me wonder how this country can be called a democracy when almost everyone I talk to has similar feelings to me but doesn’t count for F@(k @)l it’s going to go tits up sooner than later imo what with the extra pressure trying to survive the increasing cost of living.
-
Just vote for Reform UK instead of the Tories. ;)
-
We run a regular flight or three tween Lundun and Tirana.
How else do you think those with means get here... I mean, why slum it in a rubber dingy when you can do the whole thing in a couple of hours and fly in Club... ::)
-
Just vote for Reform UK instead of the Tories. ;)
Indeed I’ve voted UKIP I like Farage
-
Might it not be better to deport a few OAPs for each strapping young healthy immigrant? Big saving on nhs costs and pensions. Tax take on all these Turkish barber shops would be a plus.

I see the worthless moron Gavin Williamson has just resigned - again.
Sunak showed a complete lack of judgement when he brought him back into the cabinet.
I would imagine Sunaks chief enforcer told him he had to resign. If Sunak sacked him after two weeks it proves he hasnt a clue what he is doing.
If he falls on his own sword they can try and make it appear honourable.
