Up 0.75% to 3%.
Which is still low.
-
Certainly is, seen a lot higher than that.

15% in 1990.
I paid 16.5% because I had no money, so needed a 100% mortgage. :)
-
Inherited a decent sum in 1987 never had a mortgage since, but remember those times well.
-
Its been so low for so long, if idiots didn't make hay while the sun shone, I'm going to have to look very hard for any sympathy.
-
This time last year I had close to £600k in debt hanging over me, I'm very glad I don't today - be bankrupt in very short order ;D

New tyres on the Disco will help build up debt ;D
I've got a pair of wheels in with my local garage for new tyres, and will be over £500 poorer.

Are you paying on the never never?

I suspect your performance requirements are rather higher than mine. I paid a very reasonable ::) £165 a corner for mine.

Surely a cheap pair of Wanli Ditchfinders would suffice for a low powered derv. ::) ::) ;)

Nope, he seemed quite happy to take just a kidney and my spleen.

The Landsail branded ones I have are "interesting" with 600Nm....

I struggle with Nm.
442 ft lb I understand. :y
It's quite a lot. :)
-
For a rough estimate just take 25% from the NM to get the lbs ft👍

I'm still trying to get my head around decimalisation. :D ;D
So NM can go f*uck themselves. ;)

What made you pick them?!

They came on a 2nd hand set of wheels I bought so I could get my wheels refurbed. They are shit. Not even Sir Tig would drive on them, and he's the king of "black and round and MOTable"...

Soot checkers have bucket loads of torque, but no BHP due to a sub 5k rpm limit...

Never a truer word.... ;D
I just had to nip out and check what's on the front of the V70 as I had a sneaky suspicion that I have Landsails. ::)
Close. It has Sailun Atrezzo's costing about sixty notes each and I've not ended up in the hedge yet! :P :)
-
Keep the life insurance up to date ;D
-
I have Jinyus on the Boxster. ;D
It came with them and they have loads of tread, so they are staying on there for a while.
To be fair, its great in the dry, but much care is needed on wet / damp / greasy roads.
-
Oh dear you’re playing with fire with them on that! Although I’m pretty sure you already know that👀
-
The Volvo has a selection of budgets on it ::)
Will be putting something more appropriate on at least the front wheels in the near future. :y

Nothing like a bit of excitement in your day!
I remember when I first had my auto Desmond estate. That had some (very) budget tyres on the back, brand new. Wanki maybe, or Landsnail. Sideways around every roundabout anytime there was a sniff of rain. Got a bit tiresome on the morning commute though, forever arriving at work with my coffee in the passenger side footwell. ;D

Goodyears on the Alabama Mumsybus. And barely a squirrel out of them driving home from Brackkers tother evening in weather that even Noah would have questioned being out in 8)

My sought after and highly desirable Signum is currently sitting on Pirelli P7....225/17
£298 for 4 fitted.

Always had Yokohama on all our vehicles never any problems.

Is there a reason(s) why a derv lump can't be made to rev like a proper engine? ::)
Anything to do with the higher compression ratio of diesel?
Some boffin on here will know. :y
-
Two major reasons, diesel burn slow and Diesel engines have long strokes.

Nothing wrong with having a long stroke.
-
Especially in a tight bore😉
-
On a well used slapper even the widest bore and longest stroke may not be enough to touch the sides. :)
-
Anyway, my six pot Triumph 2500S had a long stroke and the origins of that engine probably date back to the early fifties.
She would get breathless above 4500 RPM so Rae may have a point.
-
It is, although burn time seems to be the limiting factor and a long stroke will allow more burn time but increase piston travel.
