So the early training is successful.

It's got you taking cute pictures of it doing something important.

Lovely wee dog there STEMO! But why the cage?? Looks contented though!
I miss my rescue dog big time which I acquired on the streets of Alcudia in Mallorca.
Varche will vouch for me the awful treatment that dogs receive over there.
Very upset when he had to be put down with a kidney problem. Dont know how old he was but I reckon on 12 years old.
Everybody knew him in the town (all the bars!) and he did not have a bad bone in his body after the bad time he had endured.  :'( :'(

Longest lived dog is now 31 years. You will be around 100!

On the plus side , all that walking will add some years to your frame.

Looks a nice dog. Our dog is our first and last. He was abandoned. Yes Drew, the treatment here is awful especially hunting dogs which are excluded ( courtesy of the right wing politicians) from the latest welfare laws brought in by the left wing government. You just have to use your imagination and some for the treatment of dogs ( things) especially in the countryside.

There are a lot of dogs coming over from Romania after being adopted by British people. They really get mistreated over there  :'(

As for adopting from RSPCA or the like, it's like the Spanish Inquisition. Fill in a form and we'll try and match you to a gig, then home visits, etc. You don't get to chose the dog, they choose you a 'suitable' one. And they don't have kennel club registered westies, which the boss wanted. She adores them.

The crate is for his own protection. If I have to pop out for 10 minutes or so, which is all I can do for now, I know he is safe until I get back. 8 week old puppies can find their way into trouble very easily. Besides, he quite likes it. If he realises early on it's a safe place, he will head for it when he is stressed, frightened or simply knackered.

I don't leave my dogs downstairs, they have always been upstairs with me. It was more the sound of investigative pattering about and the smell of shit.  ;D
He settled eventually and only whined at me after he'd had a poo about three o'clock. Once I removed the pad out of the room he settled again. Mustn't like the smell of his own shit. It was wifey that woke him up then, getting up for work.
He just falls asleep at the drop of a hat. I was playing with him a minute ago. Then.....

Been for his second jab this morning, so I'll be free to get out (for very short walks) next week. Meanwhile, it's bargain hunt and antiques road trip. He's stopped crapping everywhere, every fifteen minutes, but is not sleeping so much. Could be worse, I suppose.
