Whilst under the Mondeo yesterday fiddling with the washer pump I saw that the exhaust is hanging by a frayed thread as most of the hangers have rusted and broken off the pipe. Bummer! :(
Perusing the net this morning looking to see what a new exhaust will cost me, I found a second hand full system. Seems a bargain? ??? ::)

It's lucky you are blessed with bottomless pockets, Mr Tigger. :-X
How about a system from Poland?

.....or a big tin of Gun Gum. :)

Anyway it's all in hand, the local garage are going to bodge it up with rebar weld some new hangers on. :y

As far as I know my Signum is still on her 'original zorst' from 2007.

.
They do seem to last a lot longer now our 2005 Subaru is still on its original exhaust as is the 2007 Range Rover, I honestly can't remember the last time I purchased an exhaust system due to failure.

My astra is only nine years old, not of the vintage mentioned above, but it's done 113,000 miles on the original exhaust.
-
Yes my Mondeo's exhaust is the original and as far as I know apart from the hangers falling off, it's sound. :y
I'll find out for sure on Friday. :)

I was in my local one man “ VW approved agent” last week and he had a fairly new SEAT up on the hoist. Had a nose around .
Split in sump- new casing? No it wouldcost too much. Just a braze as it is a tiny crack! Makes a change from the main dealers.
I had a leaking fuel heater on the 4x4 . Hedidnt have the part butvanished fortwenty mins before walking back with the new part in its wrapping. No idea where he got it from. While I was on a roll, I got him to change the bushes on the drivers door hinge too.( From serviceable S/H hinges I had got from a Suzuki breaker.!
