Title: £4,000 Omega GLS?
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 28 April 2023, 02:07:09
Omega GLS
Almost 22 years old
Peeling lacquer
Advisories for corrosion
No cambelt history
Auto gearbox is “jumpy”

A bargain at just under 4 grand  ::)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155521537244?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=cCBBP4DUSA6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=s6lrribar9s&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Based on this, I might sell mine for £10k and go on holiday to Mexico  :D

God loves a tryer ::)

Mileage
23862

Shame it's only a V6 GLS

I would love a late Elite with that sort of mileage though.

But as they say, a car is only worth what someone is prepaired to pay for it. :y

I cant understand the obsession with low mileage.
Cars that are rarely used suffer all kinds of problems that cars with plenty of miles, but well looked after dont.  ???

Worst cars to buy are the ones that have never been over 30/50mph and ownded by the likes of Roy from Corronation Street.

All the seals are dry on the shocks, the suspension bushes are rock solid because they never did any work. the list goes on. :-X

What gets me though is a new/rebuild  engine fitted in the car can distort the proper MOT records, but the body shell that decays with age (In my opinion) is what the MOT records should relate to as the the body of the car has done the whole life of the cars mileage.

Probably seized ;D

Seriously, I have no issue with high mileage cars, unless they have been dealer serviced.

From the description you might think the guy has just acquired it from an old dude and is trying to flip it for a quick buck i.e "I had to recheck the odometer twice myself"

It’s a shame the MOT tester didn’t recheck the odometer twice.  :)  At the 2015 MOT it gained 100K miles and then lost them overnight when it was retested.  ;D
It does look like a genuine mistake but makes you aware of checking the mileage before you leave the MOT premises.  :y

It's a P3 2.0 derv from 2009,may have  been mapped as it seems quite spritely,it's averaged 43mpg in the year or so I've had it so quite pleased with it
No D4 badges on it so perhaps that came a bit later

Sounds the same as ours -V70 P3 2012 2.0D D4 (5 Cylinder) went to a 4 Cylinder version in 2013 I believe.
