Got a message come up on my display (it's a 1.4 Petrol) 'Service Vehicle Soon'.
Went and bought an iCarsoft Vauxhall V2 code reader.
If I try to read the ECM I get the following message ;-
Lost communication with DC/DC converter control module A on bus B.
It has no problems reading Mrs AA's 1.4 Sri.
Any ideas please.
It reads all other modules OK with no fault codes.

Have a look on here, Barry, there's quite a bit of info

On second thoughts, having read some of the replies, it merely means a non-emissions fault.
I usually just take it to my local indie, who is very reasonable for code reading, but I know you like to do this yourself :-\

Thanks, yup, I've searched the forums, mainly happens on the diesels - glow plugs - no mention of it happening on a petrol.
I just hope that the ECM is not cream crackered.

Anyone got access to Vauxhall/Opel technical service bulletins?

Not particularly, but I wouldn't trust any of the indies. around here, loads of bad reports, and the main dealer will be a rip off!

Happened on mine 3 or 4 times, as you say, glow plug. But mine is a J, never happened on the wife's K.

Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and book it into the Stealers .

Surprised it has a DC to DC converter as I doubt its a PHEV or MHEV

As far as I'm aware it's neither.
-
It will have a voltage converter though, or has that nothing to do with it.

Thinking about it, yes, strange message.

I've found this :-

Perhaps it will mean something to someone with more expertise and knowledge than me

Can you read live data?
I think so, I'll have a go a bit later on, got to go out now.
-
Mark, I've sent you a Whats App.
-
iCarsoft has managed to clear the 'Service Vehicle Soon' message, haven't had it come up for 4 days now.
Still won't communicate with the ECM.

Had a look at live date, gobbledegooch to me I'm afraid.
