so has everyone else :D
and "kids today" ::) won't be wanting to spend hours sowing ,they can have new clothes delivered quicker than winding on the bobbin and threading the machine .

do they even teach sowing etc any more :-\
I grew up in a time when, rightly, the boys did woodword and metalwork, and the girls were whisked off to do cookery and sewing.
I bet the Gen Z mob would have kittens about such segregation.

And they'd be right; my mother's cooking was as awful as any woodwork I've done.

Same here. My old Mum could make a great Ulster fry and not much else. Consequently her and my Dad both had serious heart trouble in their mid 40,s,
Like my Dad before me, I cant cut a piece of wood straight to save my life. ;D
He taught me how to bleed brakes and change a clutch in my mid teens though, and that has saved me a small fortune over the years.
My son barely knows how to check his oil, and has no interest. He is in for a shock when Im too old/ worn out / dead to work on his car. ::)

He'll have a milk float, no maintenance (or father) necessary :)

The tray I made for the CDT O-level practical 37 years ago has the three best dovetails I've ever cut. The fourth is down to my usual standards ;D . It's in the kitchen in France, where nobody is tempted to use it.
Dad still opens letters with the knife he made, and makes tea with the caddy spoon I did. Although every time I look at that, I want to file the notch symmetrical...

I still use, its in our living room a coffee table I made in third year of big school!
Indian teak I believe, still solid and attractive, just like me!
I reckon it must be 50 years ago ffs :(
