Title: picked up my miggy today.
Post by: Tankie1rtr on 12 September 2008, 20:55:09
Well I picked up my motor today, I left york for manchester to collect my motor, I wondered if I would like the Omega 2.2 tdi cdx, as I had never even ridden in one, well after two hours travelling, I got off at manchester and the guy was there waiting to pick me up, well I was most surprised, she is like a charcoal colour and looks very nice, a 2001 model with cream leather upholstery, I checked her over and apart from a few light scratches she looked good, he lifted the bonnet and she was as clean as a whistle, well I parted with my cash and started my 90 mile drive home, I had put £20 of diesel in and couldnt beleive my eyes when I was on the motorway, the on board computer said I was getting a return of 40 miles to the gallon, I am sure this must be wrong, I noticed that she was a bit bouncy on the back end, I dont know if omegas are like this or if I need new rear shockers, maybe you guys could enlighten me, apart from that she flew along and purred, when I got home I started noticing a few little things, like the passenger door does not unlock on the keyfob, but the other three doors do, also the black car mats, well three of them were in the boot but all had the screw things missing, so I will now have to source a new set of black mats, I would like to have the mats with OMEGA ,stitched in them like it has in the passenger mat that is already in. so if any of you guys know where I can purchase them with the carpet screw in them and the signed stitched in. also the little round cover off the front headlamp washer is missing, maybe somebody could help me with that as well. Sorry to ask all these requests but I have never had a miggy before so I am now in the hands of the guys in the owners club. (not literally...lol)  well she was last serviced in april this year at the place that she was regularly serviced at in the book, so I think that all i will have to do is just add some slick50 diesel engine treatment, and probably some Slick5o gearbox treatment, and away I will go.  any help gratefully accepted.
Regards
Tankie :)

Hi.. you'll probably find this get moved to General Chat by one of the Admins ... the welcome forum is that .. and you have a thread running .. :)

As to the Slick stuff .. Personally I don't believe in it .. rather do frequent oil changes than add chemicals .. but thats just my view .. :(

The fuel consumption sounds about right for a tractor

As to the other bits I'll leave the experts to advise on those  :)

The genuine mats with OMEGA stitched on them are still available from VX dealers and the lazy lock soleniod is easily replaced (see the maintenace guide on here)  :y

Sounds like a right result. Welcome to the forum but please follow the advice that gets offered... There's a lot of good experience floating about on here :y :y :y

As for the slick 50.... Another culprit for the Snake Oil category IMHO... As previously stated, regular servicing is the answer and with a Trade Card it's probably cheaper too ::) :y :y

Do this every 3.5/5000 miles religiously and you won't go wrong.
Welcome to a great Forum.
