Has anyone else noticed ? - they dont seem to actually mention Christmas anymore. Probably deemed too offensive.
No traditional carols or similar, also probably deemed too offensive. Every one of them has some inane irrelevant pop song playing at increased volume while they display whatever tat they want you to buy. ::)

I was at an outdoor Christmas Market (on 19th November FFS ???) and the music being thrust at us included "The First Noel" which has the words "born is the king of Israel".
Fortunately no radical Palestinians around ::) But I was happy to see that the organisers had not gone all Wokey

I did hear that some companies had pulled a lot of their ads, as they felt it could backfire on them, rubbing it in the noses of those impacted by the so-called cost of living crisis.
That may explain a lot of it.
Plus the usual perfume ads seem to be the same ones they were running last year, which tend not to be Christmas orientated. In fact, seems to be limited ads this year in general - I was watching something on one of the ad sponsored streaming services (maybe ITVX?) and for the 2hr film, the same 30s ad was repeated 8 times at every ad break!
And what I learnt from when I worked for the Yanks over a decade ago, its not Merry Christmas, its Happy Holidays.
;D

I was with SWMBO in Boots yesterday, she was buying a couple of pressies ,some of the perfume gift sets were £140 + how must that look to folk who are on hard times ? Needless to say we would never spend that kind of money even though we could afford to but fancy getting into debt for that rubbish.

Happy holidays is more inclusive than happy Christmas. Expect more of the same as immigration grows further. :)

January is my favourite month. :y
Is that because of the sales ? 😂😂

Nope. Christmas is done and dusted for another year (obviously), but towards the end of the month we start to see lighter evenings and it's just another 4 weeks till spring! :y

No mention anywhere of Christmas at all at my place of work. Its all "festive" this and "festive" that
We have to put up lit decorations but they have to be called "winter" lights

The worst thing about Christmas is the repeats on TV :-X

Festive holidays have been a thing as long as I can remember. As have festivities.
Winter lights is taking the piss though as they may as well leave the multicolour rainbow and slightly blue or orange LEDs up all year and describe them as seasonal :-X
