Same thing happened near me a few years back. Very similar plume of smoke visible for miles. I was on my way to the airfield when it kicked off and seeing that made me wonder if an airliner had gone up. :o

Reduced a row of industrial units to a crater in the ground.

It's all relative.

There's a crater in Turkmenistan that's been burning constantly since the 1980's because some idiot "engineers" set it on fire to burn off what they thought was a pocket of natural gas.

Never say never! I had got you down for this years Olympics. Time out to the Citroen factory museum. Then lager or three in the evening . You never know you might even get converted into a Catholic by fire and the sword, rudeness and disdain while you are there.

I have also never set foot in a Catholic Church. If I ever did, I suspect my old Dad would strike me down from wherever he is in the afterlife.  ;D
He actually believed the Pope (any of them) was the Antichrist.  ;D
I dont drive a Citroen. I drive a Toyota with the Wrong badges on it.  :P
French beer when I can have Guinness at home. Behave yourself.  :D
Went to the London Olympics (twice) under protest and have no desire to repeat the experience.  :)

You'll be culturally enriched if you go to the Paris Olympics!  :)

I like France, and the French*

*Calais and Paris do not count as France.  Paris is a bit like London, only it smells more.

Paris, Texas is nothing like its namesake. Fortunately.
