Title: The Mickey and Minnie Show...
Post by: Doctor Gollum on 11 September 2024, 13:49:21
What a shit show that was. :o

"Mr Trump, you're an asshole, Madam VP, isn't he such an asshole!"

Sure, he could have responded better to some of the points but if Kamalala was in any way competent or had a shred of self respect then she would have had an actual debate with actual questions rather than a rerun of her interview a couple of weeks ago.

Whatever that was this morning, it was an affront to the process and to journalism itself.

Quite disheartening.

One of these will be the leader.

Whatever you think of The Donald, there's actually only one choice.

And it's not Kamalala.

I think Trump will have more trouble with Kamala than he did with the senile old fool who is still POTUS.

Biden was/is so far past his prime that winning points against him was like shooting fish in a barrel for Trump.....who is no spring chicken himself.

Kamala is 20 years younger than Trump and also 'a woman of colour' ::) which may be enough for some to vote for her.

Personally I believe the Republicans should  look toward a younger man. Although time is very short now.

Yes. One of the comments I read this morning said a more competent republican candidate would wipe the floor with Harris, she is not a very good orator and her policies are vague. Unfortunately, it's the orange man baby, and he is so polarising that there's a good chance he'll turn moderate republicans against him.
He's a lying, narcissistic idiot and she is an imposter with no experience or charm. That's my opinion, not something I read  ;D

I did watch her interview a couple of weeks ago, this debate and the follow up on Megyn Kelley.

He didn't do as well as he should, and neither did she..
which says alot given the level of bias she received in the debate.

In a genuinely fair debate, ie the same treatment of both candidates, he would have beaten her as squarely as he did Biden.

No, he wouldn't, he's an idiot who is easily wound up, and no amount of spin can change that fact.

That is why Harris hasn't needed to commit herself to anything much yet. All she needs to do is provoke him into another of his somehow increasingly incoherent rants and stand back. Trump made the campaign about personality and being too old for the job, without expecting to browbeat Biden into standing down. Now he's the decrepit old has-been whose only asset is the rabble he raised 12 years ago.

Harris is hardly an imposter as she's held elected offices for years, but she still comes across as a lawyer trying to be a politician. Fortunately for her, her opponent is an idiot who doesn't realise just how bad he is at the job. Any job.

That's actually not a good thing...

Like him or loathe him most everyone on the planet knows all there is to know about Trump... Good and bad.

Kamalala on the other hand is practically a ghost. Hardly anyone knows anything about her or her policies* because she has effectively bypassed the whole process. The problem with this is that people won't vote for someone they know nothing about.

And as for Tim Walz, he makes Bernie Sanders look like a conservative Baptist preacher... that no one has ever heard of.

At least with Trump people know what to expect, and regardless of the specific numbers, most Americans feel they were better off with him as President than under Biden/Harris and that alone will probably see him reelected.

*Not entirely sure that she does either as they change as much as her accent.

But they will vote against someone like Trump. As we all know, most people don't vote for the party/person  they find most attractive, they vote for the party/person they dislike the least.

There's very little to like about Kamalala and many people want a man in charge rather than a woman, including women.

We're talking about a country that elected Trump over a Clinton, and a black man over a conservative woman.

We've already sold our souls to China. North Korea is largely stable, and I think you'll find it's Russia propping up Iran to keep just enough tension in the Middle East to keep Russian fuel competitive.

The world is in its current state because the current administration has repeatedly proven itself to be weak..You can't blame Trump for that, because he wasn't in the White House when any of the current issues kicked off.

Can he actually stop the war in Ukraine? I don't know, but at least he's prepared to try. Which is more than the current status quo are prepared to do :-X Constant escalation is only going to end one way...

Trump has ruled out a second debate with Kamala.

He'd have jumped at the chance of another debate with Biden. Biden (being senile) was the low hanging fruit and easy to beat.

Yes. All of the ex-miners up here (who voted Brexit and burned effigies of Maggie when she died) have been praying for a labour government for years. Their joy was short lived.

So when Trump gets in and carries out his cut off aid to Ukraine, presumably we in the West will have to stump up the deficit.

Even getting creative with assets “ held” from Russia, that means more from our pockets………. Vote Harris.

Let's face it, Europe is nothing without the US. We could never afford to support Ukraine without American money. We could never arm Ukraine without American weapons. And I doubt we could defend ourselves against Russia without American support.
Trump knows this.

We get nothing back from pouring cash into Ukraine. And if the only reason we're doing it is because the US is picking up the bulk of the bill and the next President doesn't want to subsidise it, they perhaps we shouldn't be paying either.

Apart from the obvious not having to learn Russian* , Ukraine will be a cash cow for the EU ( not the UK of course) . How so? Rebuilding contracts. Plus all the Ukrainians that will become part of the mighty EU machine.

* did people not see Russia just walk in and take over the Prize of Crimea? Plenty of other prizes to be had in the Baltic and Eastern Europe. Britain itself would make a nice prize. At least Poland has woken up. Russia is spending 30% of GDP on war. We are lucky if we spend 2%.

£57,869 on average, according to Glassdoor. For holding a lever all day. An HGV driver but without responsibility for steering or changing gear. Easy to see why Starmer had to immediately capitulate. They must have been on bread and water. ;)

Probably just another stunt to gain more sympathy votes.  ;D. Just like 'eargate'.  ;)
I don't even bother replying, Ron.

Apparently he's now claiming that God is saving him from these assassination attempts so that he can regain the White House and save America!

Ultimate diversity hire.....sounds about right.

Exclude all white women and white men....then exclude all black men.

Then pick a cackling crone from whatever remains.

What's the worst that can happen? ::) ::) ::)

I'm quite surprised by the US TV coverage, or more the lack of it. Even CNN are calling Trump out on many of his more outlandish claims. Harris doesn't seem to be saying much, so there isn't anything for the news networks to quibble over. Reminds me a bit of the UK election where Starmer kept stum because he didn't have to say anything - just let the tories dig themselves ever deeper holes.

I'll take stupidity over lunacy and insanity.
