Title: Radiator replacement
Post by: chrisr on 09 October 2024, 09:32:50
I would like to change the radiator on my 2.2 petrol facelift but I am concerned about the air con pipes that go over the top of it on the near side. Does the air con need to be drained first? Is there a guide somewhere on here? Thanks

Lift it a couple of inches and tip the offside end into the engine bay and it will lift straight out.

Obviously unbolt the main fan and the condenser from it first ;)

There's enough give in the lines to get the radiator out leaving the condenser behind.

If fitted the gearbox oil cooler lines can be undone above the radiator and tucked behind the expansion tank to minimise leakage. And removing the air filter housing gives you enough space to build a semi-detached house in the engine bay.
