Within the last couple of years it has changed beyond recognition.
We still have 3 banks, but only one is open
3 charity shops.
A strange sort of 'army surplus' store run by 'foreign gentlemen' using the old Woolworth store.
3 pizza shops.
3 pubs, but only one in use.
Superdrug.
7 Turkish barbers. Yes seven. That seem to have come about almost overnight. I wonder how they managed to get this past all the council regulations. ::)
Change can be good, but not always. :-X

Oh sorry, there is also a Specsavers. :)

You've only just noticed?
Perhaps you should book an appointment ;D

No Nail Bars, Sun-tan Saloons or Poundlands/Poundworlds? If so you must be living in some deprived northern ghetto.

I should have noticed because it is next door to 'Istanbul Barbers'

Opti your shops sounds more or less identical to our " town centre" a money laundering paradise. Most of the foreigners hang around outside the chemist boozing & shaking hands with each other , evil scrounging c**ts.

No greggs then so the 30 year olds can feed their great grandchildren? :)
-
No mosque? ???
-
What, no Vape shops?

With a 'cash only' sign in the window.

I managed to get my hair cut in Turkey last week which is a surprise seeing as all the barbers seem to be over here

No mosque? ???
Give it time. ;)

Yep the Arabic call to prayer from the wailing muezzin in the church tower minaret 5 times a day will be commonplace as well by then! :-X

I needed a haircut in Scarborough. Skilfully avoided half a dozen “ Baz Barbers”. Looked in several others and rejected . Finally chose one. The “ English” looking barber said come in and his colleague appeared out of the back. Nice enough fellow from Kurdish Iraq. Family back home.
Just about everyone in Scarborough is foreign. Hardly ever hear English being spoken.
