Title: Omega 2.5 V6 TC light on
Post by: Ian1 on 24 February 2025, 13:55:05
Hi,

I have recently acquired a 1998 2.5 V6 Omega Tourer which has just developed an issue with the TC light. It starts up fine in the morning but after about five minutes driving both the TC and engine management light come on. No obvious difference in engine running and the EML tends to go off after about ten minutes driving. However, the TC light remains on. This has just started to happen in the last few days when the weather has become damper (I live in west Wales!) so are there any obvious checks or could this be linked to ABS/ECU on its way out?

Any pointers gratefully.

Is there chance to read error memory with vauxcom or some other proper diagnostic tool?

I don't believe this year has a plug in port (but I'm happy to be corrected and guided to its location)

Next to the fuse box under the steering wheel.

As above, it's under the steering wheel

It has a OBDII port, but is not OBDII compliant, so you need a diag tool capable of reading older Vauxhalls as opposed to a generic ODBII tool.
