As mentioned elsewhere I'm keeping an eye out for a big estate. Back in the day when looking for a new car all I wanted was something in reasonable condition, with a long MOT, plenty of tax, cheap insurance and that was about it. I didn't care about make, model, interiors or trim levels. My old E39 BMW 530d had a red interior for example! :o ;D
I've been looking at F11 BMW 530d's, but I have decided that I can't live with a beige interior. Loads of them seem to have beige interiors. :-\
Following the Audi Allroad thread I've been checking Audi's out as well. Saw a nice looking A6 Avant Quattro in SE trim, but then saw that the S Line's have much nicer seats, so now an SE isn't good enough. ::)
When did I become so fussy? :-\ ::) ;D

To my mind it makes more sense than worrying about getting the car in "glossy dolphin" or the bold, exciting "glossy dolphin B".
You're sat in it and touching it sometimes for hours at a time, you want it to be the best it can be!

I actually prefer that generation of E-Class to the newer ones. :y
But check that interior out.... :-X

Probably about the same time you have more disposable wealth.
When we have little or no money we tend to compromise more. Be it cars, clothes, or even women. :)

The 'gay gold' colour on my Desmond was by far my first choice, but that was all there was for what i wanted at the time. Once inside i couldn't see it anyway and it was a lovely place to be. Though it did look much better under artificial light. :D
-
My Signum came with tan seats which I didn't really like much.
From memory STMO described the colour as being the colour of boiled shite..... or something very similar.
Being a scouser he has a naturally eloquent way with words. >:D

As sure as night follows day, if you have a car conundrum DG has a Mercedes that fits the bill. :y

Edited for clarity.

Well, they've produced everything from 2 seat run arounds all the way upto trucks and coaches so there's probably something for everyone ;D

So have Renault. But you wouldn't buy one.

You both raise excellent points ;D ;D ;D

I still have the scars from my encounter with a hired Megane some years ago, (shudder). :D
