Could anyone confirm if this code reader/clearer will work OK with my Y26SE engine?

Not looking for the full two bob solution, just basics so I don’t have to count flashes.
And I also want to clear all the nasty codes from before.

OK. After some more digging I can see that The Boy basically answered this in 2008!
OBD2 compliant.
Cheers.

An OBDII reader will do engine, and if you're lucky, gearbox, but nothing else.
-
That’s fine. All I want is to see codes without having to stare at flashes (!!) and clear irrelevant ones.
Cheers T.B.

OBD2 compliant.

Should be OK. I had an old Autel MaxiScan 509 that connected to my 3.2 OK. It's nothing special, just a generic code reader that reads live data, reads and clears engine codes, so it did what I required from it. :y
Later models may do ABS and gearbox but mine certainly doesn't.

Speaking about code reader, I have this vLinker that I use for my 2012 Astra J with OPL Manager (Polish app made for recent Opel/Vauxhall models).
vLinker on Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/TONWON-vLinker-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner/dp/B089KGPDS6/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=3LOHFSNH4MYZ1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.4eJ6YNJQl7xX_GejklSIpph6iog3CrkmTs8TqoaGP34EeRXYpH07i5s9pWq79rke1W_stwHUzXEWuvdv2kBBulaRcby_M_2imeL8I-Mi-jA_eYe61pmQAuIl-MTs2ld4GAXzrzhBLEph0CxWX3dEJgXEHm-Swoi7sbbE7FEIK4LM1MK7iy_2qASujwqkqCXZmD1FvgE4_aDta3fKNvAwvVYzO3oCfQToSZJyjVKdvpSGHKkY8Ck3AQc4NKmOHbRH-7HNEdffss9BH04oDffM1DO1yCgsSazfna4k1g1M8PY.IPpvP6HZdEv_nRx9j0W-NzPlnnEgpPR_PEafC_XJuz8&dib_tag=se&keywords=vlinker&qid=1750172408&s=automotive&sprefix=vlinker%2Cautomotive%2C133&sr=1-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1)
Can I use this dongle on the Omega? And is there a preferred application that you can recommend ?

Just a slight aside, what would Mark DTM have used when he updated my auto gearbox software??

Tech 2 I'd imagine. :-\

The only petrols that are OBDII compliant are the 2.6 and 3.2. The 2.2 petrol is EOBD compliant, which is almost, but not quite the same as OBDII, and most OBDII readers struggle with that. I think the common rail 2.5 diesel is (we never got those in the UK), but the other diesels aren't.

Yes, Tech2 with TIS is the only tool capable of updating gearbox firmware.
