Title: New diagnostic computer
Post by: Jimbob on 29 July 2025, 07:37:56
After spending best part of £100 to have an adapation reset done following an airleak, its time to upgrade from my dodgy 2015 autocom clone.

Looking for hassle free multi car bi directional diags / activation, to suit my current fleet, and any changes in the next few years.

Think Ive settled on this one - Topdan artidiag pro : https://eu.topdon.com/en-ie/products/artidiag-pro
Can get it at £375 on Amazon.

Anyone got one or similar, or have anything useful to add?

Not used one, but a lot of people are rating one of the Autel 808's as a multibrand solution covering most aspects around resets and obviously diags beyond engine.

Seems to be pretty similar to one you linked, though probably better support from Autel, and more general knowledge on usage on the internet?

Yes, liked the look of the Autel stuff, but had to spend a lot more to get the adaptation changes I needed, other one was icarsoft, but they are well marketed, but poorer performing as far as i can tell

Icarsoft is perfect for code reading and live data, but won't do much else. They do offer multi manufacturer diagnosis for a modest increase in price over their single make units.

Ultimately it depends what you want to do with it.

I use the Landrover iCarsoft V2 as well - mostly because I got an as-new one of a Jag forum member for £40 - and it's not bad for manufacturer specific stuff.  Its clearly not dealer level stuff, and short of spending thousands with ongoing subscriptions on top, you won't get near that.  I'd say iCarsoft is a bit like o p c o m compared to Tech2, only safer, LOL
