As all my planned work yesterday was cancelled at short notice, and because I was in Brummingham so couldn't do anything productive at other sites, a colleague and I decided to "collaborate" at the city centre German Market.
Lots of frothy beer and a 20" hotdog.
That's what I call a great day in the office ;D. And not getting stabbed whilst in Birmingham is a bonus.
As an added bonus, popped in to see that reprobate Mr DTM - great to catch up Mark :y

Always good when you can chill out instead of working. :y Happy for you that you had a productive day. ;D
We've *got to* go to Birmingham in a few weeks but we'll go on one of those train things, as I prefer to find my car where I left it. ::)
*
Going to a show that our daughter booked for us.

Just think, if HS2 was completed, we'd get there ten whole minutes quicker, ::) although we'd have to travel ten miles further by car to get on it. ::) As it stands, we have quite a few really nice car parks around our way but no actual track. ;D

Yes, don't park a car in the centre of Birmingham, the gangs will strip them. Even in supposed secure carparks right next door to the cop shop.

Err, you'd have to go a lot further than 10 miles. You're nearest HS2 station would be Wormwood Scrubs I believe. Which is about 75 minutes on a good day....

Last time I was in Brum I got charged £16 for driving across an imaginary line that some green nazi bureaucrat had drawn on the map. ::)

Ah, although I'll never use HS2 I wasn't aware of that. :y It just shows what little interest I've taken of it. ;D

If you do decide to go to Wormwood Scrubs, don't pick up any hitch hikers.

Ive never been to Birmingham. Doesnt sound like Ive missed much. ::)

The nearest i've got to Brum was a bus ride to watch a FA Cup semi final at Villa Park in 1976. Christ it was bloody freezing. Snowed in on the M6 on the way home.

Many cities now have such tosh. Most are ulez, but Oxford remains special, because it's run by left wing idiots who can't comprehend a world beyond the Oxford ring road.

Think of downtown Belfast in the late 70s, only the waring religions are different, and it tends to be blades rather than guns and explosives.

Downtown Belfast in the 70,s was a great place. I loved it. No idea why I left apart from a scarcity of jobs, and youthful impetuosity. :)
Never planned on staying in England for more than about a year. Then I met a girl.
Woke up about 5 years later with a Wife, two kids and mortgage, and thought " wtf happened there ? !!". :o ;D

Always a pleasure to meet up :y

Again today, all my work has been postponed due to a charge relate outage caused by another team yesterday.
Sadly, I'm at home today, so no German Market frothy beer to amuse me. Although if Birmingham has the weather Brakkers does today, not sure I'd fancy it, lol.

We shall have to have a plan so it's not so long between next time :y

Over in Germany the home of Christmas Markets, they've been cancelling them due to diversity concerns. :-X
