Politicians across Europe are not holding back this time, they are calling a spade a spade. About time. There's nothing anyone can do about it, of course, but if the opportunity arises, I'm sure the knife will go in deep.

The man is a total disgrace, if what I've read is true apparently his father paid a doctor to rule that he was medically unfit to serve in the US forces, and he has the gall to criticise our armed forces " held back from the front line" a lot of families will be very upset & angry at this comment about family members that have served and died or returned with catastrophic injuries, I know I am.

Notwithstanding that the US is part of that very same NATO, nor the total shit show that passed for the US withdrawal under Sippy Cup, (Donald even got the blame for that).

The very types that those troops were defending us from.
If everyone stopped watching the news* there would be far less outrage and everybody would be much better for it.

Ours is much the same. Doesn't help that South Today covers Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire from Southampton, whilst Meridian is in Maidstone ;D

It's all well and good being pissed off and outraged about everything, but posting about it with no reference to back it up, you may as well be yelling out of the car window on a motorway.
The internet ifs full of people getting outraged every time Donald says something, this is no different but not one person has referenced a clip of him actually saying what has gotten everyone outraged.
He deliberately says things to bait people whether it's the media or other leaders, and everyone bites every single time. He's the political version of Michael O'Leary.
If he's said something out of line, link to it and we can have an actual discussion about it rather than being sheep on the outrage bus.

Trouble where you are is that Birmingham is a media black hole and if you go left a bit, it's all in Welsh. East a bit and you're getting too close to Luton to be comfortable.

Which is just contrived nonsense. He's always had an issue with NATO, I took this to be another dig, and that everyone is upset because, by implication, it suggests that we weren't involved. This is obviously wrong because, of all the NATO countries, we were right there with them. That is indisputable.
The question that isn't being asked is does NATO as a whole pull it's weight, or does it always fall to the same few countries that step up when asked, ourselves being the front of that line? That may well have been the intent of whatever he said.
Trouble is, after the fact, the outrage drowns out whatever was said to begin with making it almost impossible to have a reasonable discussion about anything.
To Steve's first post, all that's visible, is people at Davos, apparently yesterday, getting uppity about tarrifs that had already been withdrawn. The broader issue being that we keep being spoon fed what they want us to see.

His actual words were that the US has never asked for military help (which they have for both Afgan and Iraq), and that some NATO countries joined in for Afgan but stayed back from the front line (which is also 'dangle berries')
That is what has enraged everyone this side of the Atlantic in the last day or 2.
Clearly, he's either full of shit to the point of being beyond stupid, or his advisors are full of it/lazy/stupid. Or probably both.
Now I don't have a problem with Trump generally. I think, for the most part, he is just what America needs, after decades of wet dreams. I do disagree with an awful lot of his foreign policy, but he was voted in by Americans to improve America. But I really do think he has made himself to look a right pleb this last week or so. Lets see if he's man enough to admit it, or if he is yet another wet dream and try to make out he was right and we've all misunderstood his very clear words.

Had he said France and Italy, then it would have offended, but not anything like so outrageously. He didn't, he said NATO, and because we're also part of NATO it was immediately assumed that he meant British troops.

I was considering the similarities myself the other day. And considered if Hitler was always a nutter, or just surround himself with yes-men too scared to contradict him, thus either he or his staff were doing more and more outrageous and unacceptable things?
I suspect Trump's (EU perceived) issues are due to poor information from his advisors, as I've said here before. Be that Greenland, Afghanistan or domestic US issue.
Illegal immigration is a big issue for the populous of many countries, US included. It's usually the reason cited for how the majority voted in Brexit, as ironic as that sounds.

It is claimed he wants to Make America Great Again, but if he is not more careful, he could bring about the slow, final, inevitable decline of this great country, to go the way of so many "empires" have done in history by over reaching and turning in on it's own people. The Minneapolis "situation" is a classic example of this, along with his policy of "Peace through strength", with strangely getting involved in Venezuela and Iran, with now sending an "Armada" to those regions. History tells us how that ended for the Great Spanish Empire after 1588, and how Hitler's attempt to create a "Greater German Empire" finished that countries aim for World domination! Then there was our own British Empire that ended with over reach; just like the Roman Empire went the same way. But his pattern of strange doctorial actions, mad decisions, boastful nature, and him believing he is "the best ever" and all is down to him, with lives being lost at home and abroad, whilst trying to extend the USA empire, just makes a connection possible. Hitler made sure he rearranged his legal system to be filled with Nazi "yes" men, and removed anyone who had a different opinion to him, just as Trump has manipulated the American Justice system to do what he wants. But I suppose Trump only will imprison those that do oppose him if he can, not place them in concentration camps!! ::) ::)
Do not forget also his ravings on immigrants; anyone not "American" either, that he is targeting with above the law ICE agents roaming the streets Just like the SA??!! ::)

I've always backed the republicans to get into government in the USA and put a stop to all the woke shite that proliferates right now. But, knowing he can't serve another term, his desperation for recognition has made him blunder through everything he thinks he can get away with. Add to this his narcissism, his lack of empathy, his ego and his inability to tolerate any other viewpoint, and you turn a desirable situation into a complete shit show.
There's a lot he's trying to keep from people about his past as well, in my opinion.

China taking over the World is something being considered nowadays. History tells us that China has tried that, so anything is possible, with Taiwan being the current target.
However, we must never forget that China has been invaded and conquered many times before. The last time was when Japan invaded in 1937, the date many historians now consider as the true start of WW2. Invasions in the 13th century by Mongols, and in the 17th century witnessed the Manchu invasion. So maybe it is time for China to start its “World Empire” as the centre of World power shifts from West to East, which has also happened before!
Trump’s “ways and manner” is, maybe, hastening that process as the American “100 year” at the top finally comes to an end, very, very, sadly!! ;( ;( :(
