I plan to drive to Holland next month, as such i needed to get out my old iPaq and install TomTom on it, for Sat Nav in Euroland.
I am not a big fan of those sucker things on the windscreen, they look ugly, fall off in hot weather, and block the view... so i made this up....
Get yourself a bracket like this, any B&Q should have them... i found one in my garage ::) - Does not need to have countersunk holes for screws ;) ;D

I then grabbed an old adjustable phone/ipaq holder, this used to be part of one which had a sucker for the windscreen, but i took that off.
Bend the bracket a bit more than the standard 45 degree angle, (just use you hand to bend it) then gaffer tape the bracket to the holder, looks like this....

Now for the interesting bit! Just insert it between the plastic wood and plastic dash at the bottom corner near the hazzard switch...

It surprising how much weight it can hold...

Looks fairly neat too, can't see any ugly mount points.

Best thing is, when doing my daily commute i tend to know where i am going so i can just remove it :)

8/10 You didn't use ANY sticky backed plastic and you're supposed to use double sided stickytape for speed.
John Noakes would have a fit. ;D ;D
Seriously though you might want to put a couple of screws/small bolts into that pda holder under the tape, pda screens aren't cheap or easy to change and can break very easily if dropped.

Had the same setup in the old Senator i took to Europe, only difference was the back of the bracket was screwed into the dash, the holder was still gaffer tapped on.
Lasted well in 30+ degree heat, and generally trashed and thrashed car.
With the amount of tape i put on, it aint going anywhere!

A bit more time and effort Tunnie, you could have that looking good, and even more effective :y

Just drove to WIM and back, sprited drive back on the twisty, did not move, or fall out.
What were you thinking? - Screw it in properly, more gaffer tape? ;D
