Title: 4POT CamBelt DVD Is Ready
Post by: Craig_R on 11 January 2008, 19:54:19: Right Chaps I have Made 18 Copies of the DVD and its ready to send out so get those PM sent in and i can Get Them Sent Out. Only thing I did not get to do was to print on the DVD disk itself Shame :-[ so it will be just a plain white disk at the mo in a clear case.

The Cost For The DvD is going to be around The 3.50 mark so ill send out my address and you can just post me the money to make life easier, If you fancy just sticking a [size=24]5 Pound Note[/size] in All the Better As the money go's To The Forum and not my pocket.

Ill Try And Get Some Sent Off Next Week So If you have Already sent your adress please do so again so I dont miss anyone out

Post by: alexandjen on 18 January 2008, 20:57:08: DVD arrived today (very quick delivery) and I watched it earlier, I must say it has made me feel a lot more confident about tackling the job myself.
Good quality and actually more comprehensive than I imagined it would be.
One question I do have after watching the DVD is why do you have to turn the engine through one complete resolution after tensioning the belt and then slackening off the tensioner completely before retensioning again?
Can't wait for further tutorials from Craig especially now that he owns a camera that would make Sky News jeoulous.
A complete success :y A must have for all 4 pot owners who have never changed their cambelt themselves. [smiley=dankk2.gif]

James, would you care to comment on the engine rotation?

When you turn the engine around one rotation for the first time by hand, you'll find that the camshafts are under valve spring pressure, and everything will "settle" after the first turn.

The tensioner position will therefore never be spot on after the first rotation, and needs to be reset :)

Yup, we're waiting for feedback on these (haven't really had chance to have a proper look at it yet) before selling more.

If I'm honest, I am not entirely happy with the DVD - I'd like to re-make it. Mechanically it covers it fine, but I'd like to get some closer shots of the timing marks, and narrate it properly, rather than just chat through the process with someone aiming a camera at me...

Anyone want to volunteer for a free cambelt change, and a do we have a photographer? ;)

I did not actualy get the service history apart from the service book. It indicated that the cam belt was changed when serviced in April, about 3k miles ago. Luckily I rang the garage and they told me that they had done a full service but did not change the cam belt. I will therefore need mine doing in the very near future.
I would be very interested in a DVD when they are available. Any time scales when it will be available again?
