Title: Bruntingthorpe..
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 01 October 2008, 20:21:46
V6 Omegas are good for the thick end of 150 mph.
But with a 70 mph speed limit in Britain we are unlikely to reach such speeds.
If enough forum members were interesred would it be possible to arrange a day out at Bruntingthope in Leicestershire (or similar venue) where we could drive our migs to their full potential on the disused 2 mile runway.
I have noticed that other car clubs have used this venue .....Cossie O.C. comes to mind.
Many of the car and bike mags use it for speed testing and generally having   FUN.
I have no idea what it would cost ...........or even if it is possible but I think we could all have a great time if it could be arranged.
Anyone up for this. :y :y :y

really interested in this. but i'm afraid to say it would be better for me around springtime next year onwards due to cost of approaching christmas and poorer weather approaching too. i'm sure there is enough of us here to all chip in and make it a great day.

There is no time table as such. Perhaps Admin could look into seeing how much it would cost. :y :y

It's pretty cheap actually.  It's based on number of car hours on the track.  I think it was 40 quid per hour of actually using the track, honour system to declare how much you used the track.  You could easily fit that in for a tenner each at that rate.

Sounds like great value for money ,especially if we could get enough forum members interested. :y

Runway is blocked at present with un-sold BMWs and is preventing the Vulcan from returning home for the winter.

Where are the keys to these BMWs? [smiley=evil.gif]

Well, why thrash our own cars? ;)
