Title: How to store apples
Post by: waspy on 06 October 2008, 18:16:45
Can someone tell me the best way to store some apples for a few weeks/ maybe month or two?
Is wrapping in news paper & a cool place (not fridge) the best way or does someone know better. Please don't say eat them all at once ::)

Wrapping in newspaper is one way.....thats just to stop brusing and rotton bits spreading to the other apples...and then stacked in a box and left in a dark, cool place.

If you have a friendly greengrocer you could ask him for some fruit trays.....the cardboard type....does the same job, keeps the apples separated  :y

Taxi driver is right. Separated on trays in a cool dark place.

My uncle used to make cider and would store hundreds till the spring like this.
I know, coz I used to scrump em :y
