When I bought my 3.0 petrol Estate the best I could get out of it was 21mpg...
Since all the work I've done - the last "careful" tankful lasted me over 500 miles. that's about 400 on the motorway, and 100 local driving. So an average of over 30mpg from a 3.0 auto. Really not bad.
I decided to grit my teeth and see what I would do to a tank driving a little more "enthusiastically"... and on a run to Mr DTM's and back at the weekend, I covered about 360 miles, plus another 50 or so locally - so 410 to a tank, and the lights about to come on anytime now. That's a difference of about 90 miles per tank between driving like miss daisy and really enjoying the V6 (obviously when it's safe and appropriate to do so :y)
By enjoying the V6 I don't mean driving like an idiot - but for example when you kick it down on a sliproad from between 30mph and 80mph, you can really feel the kick now it's running right :)
Wonder what it'll do when my LPG conversion arrives... :-X :-X ::)
