Having purchased a cinema surround DVD player recently, I thought it would be a good idea to try some of the dvd rental trials out there.
I've had several different companies, but some of them have fallen short.
The best one overall was Cinema Paradiso which gave a 2 week free trial, and managed to send everything in order in the list.
The worst one was a 2 week free trial with The Sun....absolutely useless, not one of my top 10 was sent out, and when you have to make up a list to 30 plus dvds the ones sent out were just there to make up the numbers.
Lovefilm fell short on the top dvds too.
I'm presently with Blockbuster at the moment. The first 2 weeks has been good with the top of the list being sent out, but now they have started sending out further down the list.
When you consider that they charge £12.99 a month for 2 dvds at a time, I think it would be better to buy them new. With postal constraints and viewing possibilities, you are unlikely to view many.
Some people who watch dvds non stop every night might think it a great deal, but frankly just coming up with a list wasn't easy.
Luckily these have all been free trials, so nothing lost :y :y

I tried a couple a few years back. Blockbuster, in the year or so I used the service, never sent top of my list.
Went up to £15 (3 disks), so I cancelled.

Really it is the top 3 or 4 that you want to see. The others in the list are just there to make up the numbers. I've just received The Shining and the Italian Job (1969)...they were number 27 and 29 out of a list of 30 :o :o :o :-* :-*

Often cheaper to buy at the supermarkets.
We used Netflix for a while for free as they were investigating the UK market - then they pulled out.
