Whilst watching the race I couldn't help but recall the "Ferrari International Assistance" thread from a few weeks back. What a farce! Whilst Lewis needs a boot up the backside for his reckless first corner antics, I'm incensed at the decisions of the stewards.
(1) The drive through penalty for Lewis was OTT, although I can see where they were coming from.
(2) Massa was completely off the track and took Lewis out, but received a drive through penalty (same as Lewis) for it even though his actions put Lewis back to last place.
(3) When Massa hit Bourdais later on, the incident investigation was to be decided after the race. Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't that only occur within the last five laps (not 13 from the end)? And surely Bourdais had the inside line and since it was a battle for position was quite within his rights to not yield to Massa?
(4) When Massa passed Webber, he did so by driving off the track (outside of the white lines) which enabled him to gain an advantage and continue the overtake. So I'm wondering why nothing has been said of it?
It really puts a dampener on the whole thing, there's just no consistency to the decision making which detracts from what was a pretty decent race. Have to wait and see what McClaren do now and how they approach the race at the weekend.

I guess I am the only person who really doesn't care...
But, that interview with Max Mosley in his office - anyone notice the car model on his cabinet? Yup, Ferrari.

I think Hamilton only has himself to blame, he had 60 odd laps to get back infront so what was the rush, he'll learn ::)

Although I'm a Hamilton fan, I think Lewis needs to sort his head out and calm down a bit. As Pete said in his post, he had no need whatsoever to try and get back past Kimi on the first lap, he only needed to score some decent points. I'm sure he'll learn eventually as it's all part of the F1 learning curve.
I still think too many races are being "decided" by the stewards. Let the boys get out there and race for chrissake!! ::)

Lewis had stuffed his race up in the first corner by flat spotting his tyres, he should have come straight in for a new set. Instead he stayed out to try and keep track position and ended up getting spun out by Massa.

The FIA don't want exciting racing - ie overtaking, and thrills and spills - thats why F1 is so boring.

I agree on all 4 points above - branding Lewis' hot headedness at the first corner the same as Massa's attack at the chicane is a dreadful mis-judgement.
And with regard to Bourdais and Massa... I am lost for words - although Massa conveniently picked up another point or 2...
I am really disheartened to see the way F1 is going - I hope they pull themselves together for the new season. >:(

On the contrary, they constantly make decisions in ferraris favour ;D you can't get more consistant than that ;D

I use to be a F1 fan but lately i have realised it is a big con. The FIA are only interested in the championship lasting thru the whole season and keeping the viewing figures and sponsorship up thus they hand out ridiculous fines etc to the leader so the second place man is always in touch till the last race. >:(

Dont know if anyone remembers shumacher coming back early from his broken leg incident, with the sole intention of stopping his own team mate (irvine) from winning the world championship ?
well, at that time,I was told by an ex (very talented) racing driver of Italian extraction that it happened on the orders of certain dodgy characters, usually found in sicily. The rumour was that they stood to lose a lot of money in bets if Irvine won the championship.
Makes you wonder just how corrupt things are ,and exactly what goes on behind the scenes. :-/
