Title: Tradeclub site... Again!
Post by: PaulW on 29 October 2008, 00:37:10
Ok its back up now (http://www.tradeclub.com), but now when I try to log in it says my details are wrong...

I've emailed Web Support about it, just wondering if anyone else was having issues?

James, did you email WebSupport?  I did last night, got a response thismorning just confirming the details I should use, but still no joy, so replied back again.  Maybe there are a few issues since they updated? who knows...

Either way, they seem quick enough to reply, so hopefully the problem will be sorted soon  :y

Off thread, yes, but how do you get one of these Trade Cards when membership is apparently "strictly controlled"?? :-? :-?

My way was to develop a good relationship with my dealer...
I am a regular customer, looking after 5-6 cars,
I Always take the little fella with me, who they all love (my parts counter is in the middle of an industrial unit, so no showroom etc), they spoil him, give him sweets, old irmscher brochures etc.
He ALWAYS carries my ABS card, they know us both anyway...but make a fuss of checking it for him,
When it ran out, I just said, ohhh thats run out, need to get round to renewing it....Oh I dont suppose you could give me a form for a real one, which they did.

(My faxed applications always seemed to be ignored, so one visit I queried it, the disappeared upstairs, came back 5 mins later with my TC number)

I now have my own free, long term card :)

So I would just be friendly over the year, then try similar come ABS renewal time.

Thanks for that Jimbob!! :y :y

I was wondering as it has got very friendly between me and my local Vx parts department who give me discount even when outside what's available using my ABS card.

So I will just continue to build that relationship and ask about a full TC in due course! :D :D ;) :y :y

Some people have managed to get one much easier.

I think a lot depends on both the dealer, and your image.

I normally go afterwork, in smart clothes, so they know full well I'm not trade.

Go in with dirt and oil everywhere, you look more tradey and just get one.  Obviously only if you dont know the dealer.

ABS card is a "full" TC AFAIK .. certainly gets me trade prices on non-TC items at my local stealers .. and for £20 a year it has paid for itself many times over !!!

Indeed Entwood that's what the ABS card has done for me, along with securing a Halfords TC, but now I am going to use Jimbob's advice and attempt to obtain a full Vx TC in due course! 8-) 8-) 8-)

As I see it the more  TC's you have the better for obtaining the best possible discounts, as I certainly need them!! ::) ::) 8-) 8-)

A real one in your own name is handy for getting the book and extra postal discounts  :y
