Title: another sodding ebay thread!!
Post by: Danny on 29 October 2008, 17:49:07
i figured i'd add to it!

dont you just hate it when you bid what you think is technically a low price just to annoy the seller or previous high bidder, only to end up winning the item(s) and having to spend money you didnt really need to (thankfully its money i have!)

If I may ask, what did you end up buying? :-?

If you're not genuinely prepared to spend the money you're bidding for the item - don't bid. If you bid just to annoy others, you may get burnt  ::)

But yes, what was it?  ::)

i always have a fallback plan of having money available so if i win, just buy it and sell it on!

a job lot of corsa parts in black that had been advertised pretty much as "corsa parts" and so obviously will be missed by individual searches, and with an offputting start price of £150, someone had bid £150 so i decided to bid £155 but was then the highest bidder with 20 minutes and i figured i'd get outbid

i'm now the proud owner of a facelift corsa front bumper with grille, rear bumper with fog lights, standard sxi/sri spoiler, standard sxi/sri side skirts and electric heated door mirrors! all of which were removed undamaged from a car that has been modified for show car purposes!!

and its quite local so no postage fees or waiting time... once he's replied!!

A bit of overtime at the sorting office I think. Less time to e-fiddle and more money if you cant stop.

aye! he advertises as all practically unmarked and in as new condition, and i'm paying by cash on collection so if anything differs too much i can always bail, but then, might still be an extreme bargain!

i'm wondering whether or not to even swap my bumpers over since those are the later model ones (straight swap fitting apart from clips for a couple of quid from VX) to enhance the look of mine (and increase value slightly) and sell mine with the rest of the stuff
