If it is muscular you need something that is anti inflammatory. Aspirin and Nurofen are good and much better than paracetomol for this.

If it really hurts like break:
1. Add codiene to the above.
2. See a Doc.

Keep it moving. Gooing backwards and forwards to the fridge for ice to put in your favourite whisky is ideal.

if its muscular, which it sounds like it is, ibuprofen, after eating, you can also take paracetomol with this if it still hurts. If that doesnt help and you have some diclofenac is a stronger form of ibuprofen. Tramadol would probably 'numb' it up more, but if your needing to take that i'd suggest a doctor. Drinking, while great, will only slow the healing process. If the pain stops you sleeping, or shows no improvement after three days,  go to the doctor. If it gets worse go to the doctor. They'll probably tell you its muscular, but better safe than sorry eh? Finally, you could actually take all three together, but definately no drink with that one!!!

Oh and remember pain is only weakness leaving the body.

As a couple of other people have already said, don't break about, get it seen to by a doctor. Might feel muscular but also classic cardiac symptoms. Put your mind at rest if you're not sure. :y

I know TB will say its gay but take it easy for a while.  I agree on the intercostal muscle, thats sounds like the most probable cause but they flair up easy if re-aggravated too soon.

Do some slow easy stretching 2-3 times a day and maybe do a back 9 before hitting the 19th.......

If it doesnt go away or gets worse a trip the quack would be in order  :y

Hope its gets better and you get to play a bit of golf  ;)

See a doctor mate, as someone else said classic myocardial infarction symptoms ( heart attack ) they always take left arm and chest pains seriously, go to A & E, its what you pay your taxes for.

A guy at our doctors last week said he thought he was going deaf.
Doctor said, what are the symptoms ?
He replied, well there's, Bart, Marge and Homer!!!!!!!!!!

Richierich.

Go to your doctor.

It's highly unlikely - but possible - that your have had something serious happen. If you've pulled a muscle then you only waste an hour. If it IS serious then you probably bought yourself a few hundred more rounds of golf than you might get by trying to shrug it off...

Seriously.  :y
