Title: T reg GLS - £2.5k
Post by: TheBoy on 22 December 2006, 11:29:46
Blimey.

2nd hand car place next door to where I work, T reg GLS (dunno engine size, my eyesight at that good), £2499.

Admittedly its an estate, but I still think they are having a Bobby Moore.

I think we're all used to e-bay prices. If you have a look at auto trader, some of them are outrageous.

This one on ebay seems pricey as well

Just remember, asking price and selling price are oftern very different figures! ;)

Not a hope in h*ll of selling at those prices... but they know this.
They then sell for a few hundred less and and punter thinks he has bagged a "bargain" while seller has still made a fat profit.

I dont know if car dealers work this way as a matter of course, but...I occasionally look at some of my local used car dealers on autotrader, just to see whats knocking about. When I actually ring them to make enquiries, I make sure that I never mention the price that I have seen it advertised at.
Invariably, when we get around to it, the price they are actually displaying on the windscreen is well below the price in the trader. I have had experience of a £1000 difference on a five grand car!
