What's it like where you are? The firework displays seem to be very subdue this year :-? Last year, you couldn't stick a pin in between the bangs & flashes, sometimes there's a few mins between them

Rolling thunder...has been for at least the last half-hour
-
Hardly anything compared to past years over here. No real buid up, and only heard the first fireworks this week.
Must admit, I prefer it this way.

i think this weekend will see the majority of the shows and displays
-
Verry quiet round here compared to usual years not complaining though.
-
I reckon this weekend will be biggy.
Though supermarkets are panicing and dumping stock cheap.
-
Fair bit here over the last hour -- deathly quite now tho -- as Jay says -- I guess the weekend will be the highlight

We have just returned from a Huge oranised display in Stockton, all free, the way of the future I hope.
No many 'Garden fireworks' in our village, but seemed to be quite a lot in the town, why? when they have a huge display I can not say.

With the credit crunch maybe families are funneing thier money towards something that may last a while longer like Xmas pressies for thier kids rather than fireworks that are just a 20 second waste of time. :-/

Quietest Nov 5th I can remember. It's like a battle field for a week either side normally. If it has this effect, maybe a credit crunch for a week or so before every Nov 5th would be a good idea.
Not sure if I've mis-heard, but I think this is the last year for the private or garden fireworks. Apparently the only things that will be available to the public are the ones that go up to a max of 3 metres. No limit to how loud a bang these things can have tho, so the Fido's and Tiddles of the world will still be nervous wrecks by Nov 6th each year.

Lots going off in the social housing near us, and that was only minutes ago

There was a bit of activity Friday, Saturday and Sunday and last night but I think there will be more this weekend.

There are about 3 or 4 families who are a PITA, one of them replaced a nice family. >:(
