Big news, a 2p/L price war. Gimme a break. ::)
Petrol prices have dropped 50% in the last few months in the states. OK, so that won't happen in the UK. A better comparison is that they have dropped to what they were 6 years ago. So when is that going to happen here? >:( >:(

Approx 75.9 a litre for unleaded if memory serves me right!!!!
-
only cost me £57.85 to fill up on Monday at Sainsbury's :o
which actually is relatively good for super-unleaded but I did have a 5p per litre off voucher - worked out at about 95p / litre :-/

Well, I know its not perfect but I am happy to pay 92.9p after paying 117.9 only 5 weeks ago.
Plus, with my tesco vouchers it will be only 87.9p, which is 30p a litre cheaper, 1.36 quid a gallon cheaper and almost 23 quid a tankful cheaper than before......

Ours is not doing them at the moment, well the other day :exclamation

on the plus side it makes the premium fuels look cheaper than they were

Petrol has dropped 25p/Litre in the last 6 weeks. I'm one of a minority who's not too happy about it! Why? Because I just spent £2K on a LPG conversion. Biggest waste of £2K ever >:( I'm quite happy to pay 90p/Litre or even £1.05/Litre, and if prices stayed around those levels I wouldn't have bothered with a conversion. £1.20 scared me thats why I got the conversion done. Wish I hadn't bothered now :(
-
As said spend £50 in Tesco (not difficult) & get 5p per litre off which equates to 89.9p. The Beastie is nearly full & the 'Tina is just below half full so will be on the next shopping run.
Just for a laugh i remember at 18 filling my Ford Anglia up from the red on friday pay day with £7 worth of good old 4 star!!!!!!!!!!! :D

LPG has come down by almost the same proportion round here though. 62.9 at the worst of it down to 51.9 now. I'm still glad I'm not feeding an MV6 on petrol anymore. :y

£2000
Should have gone DIY but even at 55p it will pay off

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the attitude of being 'happy' to pay 90ppl for fuel is why the UK ended up with Gordon Brown. It's called the Stockholm Syndrome.

We are not happy to pay that much we are happy to pay 40p a litre
-
"Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which they have been placed."
So we actually like GB, despite all his blunders and total lack of action when required ?. You are prob right, this country tends just to muddle on despite being treated like c**p. :( :( :(

any suggestions for getting the price down even further?
-
92p is totally reasonable in today's climate surely? That's only £4.19 a gallon.. so if a V6 gets 25mpg, that's only 17p a mile - so on a run when that increases slightly, you would easily do 100 miles on about £14.
Seems like bargain motoring to me!
Last weekend I went from Cardiff, to Ramsgate, to Cardiff again - round trip of 500 miles, and I did it all on a tank with a bit to spare, 3.0 V6 auto, loaded up to the hilt, and that cost about £67. I really can't complain at that, and with the way prices are, I'm not worried about gas converting.. .

I can remember 50p per gallon in 1975,my moped did 120 to the gallon. The good old days. :)
