Mine is a "proper" browser TB on a system brand new in 2007, with its cache cleared out twice. It was showing all avatars well, including mine, before the recent changes.
Now most, including my resized avatar and yours is again fine, but only a few like Nickbat's, Ljay's and Marks DTM are so large only a part is showing!
So what is the problem please? ;)

Try Ctrl and F5!
worked for me! Forces your server to get a fresh copy!

The problem is firefox.
Actually the real problem is that I have been banging on about avatars and sig images, and writing the forum guidelines, only to be completely ignored by everyone.
Now we have had to disable automatic image resizing (for another reason), those with non compliant images are showing as a problem. Sadly, Firefox makes a righ pigs ear of it, gay that it is.
Most images have been resized by themselves, so many of the current avatar problems are now caching errors in the browser.

Thanks again for that tip Ljay, but after trying twice it is still making no difference. ::) ::) :D ;)

Right TB, back from a nice cup of tea and following my self explanatory post in answer to Ljay's useful suggestion, I have run out of ideas on what I can do to solve the avatar imaging problem! ::) ::) ::) ::)
What do you suggest TB please? ;) :)
PS I don't think it is wise to disconect Fifefox from the bit I understand of such system protection devices. 8-)

Just read the "New OOF software problem thread" in Forum Problems TB, so I will just carry on with overlarge avatars!! ;D ;D ;)

Why do you think FF is more secure. Its not. Do not believe their hype. Unless you are currently on 3.03, it is very insecure.
I would stick to IE7 with all updates for now until this is fully resolved.

As I think I stated clearly earlier TB I know little about the workings of a computer, I just use them, so any jargon on them helps me little to understand the technicalities of operating systems ::) ::) ::).
In the professional field I leave that to IT experts like yourself, and just get on with my usual function of keeping the business afloat! I don't aim to change that approach anytime soon! :D ;) i.e What is IE7 when it is at home? :-? :-?
However I have removed the Firefox programme from my system..................and it has made no difference yet! ::) :D ;)

Not showing up correctly on mine either - it's too large and only showing half the image. Quite a few avatars are looking like this and I've switched back from FF to IE7. :-/

Thanks Andy & Bob, it is some how reassuring that it is happening to others!! :y :y
As I keep stating I know nothing about computer systems ::) ::), only that mine was brand new last year supplied by a specialist firm in Coventry and I have now removed FF in an attempt to rectify as TB seemed to be suggesting. 8-) 8-)

Thanks Andy but I have done that THREE times now, with no difference made to the offending avators. :y

Thanks greatly Andy, much appreciated though! :y :y :y
I have just cleared down 'C' drive yet again along with clearing down my IE cache for the fourth time just to make sure. Again much deleted, but still no difference to the problem of the avators! ::) ::) :D ;)

Yep, done all that and still the same. As an example, MDTM's avatar is about 4" long but you can only see half the picture. :-?

Your avatar shows as 280 x 350 pixels, I think.... Like others, shows on my screen as about 3 or 4 inches tall and only as wide as to show 'OV' on width....

Mr dtm's avatar is fix. Trust me, its a local caching issue.
Close browser, go to control panel > internet options, and clear cache from there
(for IE)

In my (lame) defence, that was the size of the avatar when I viewed it on posting.... Honest! ;D

There may be a shortcut for FF. But the long way is:
Tools
Options
Privacy
In "private data" - Clear now
Make sure "cache" is selected.
OK.

Whilst we have certain issues with the forum, we do not recommend FF anyway, due to its inability to render stuff as well as IE7.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend FF for average Windows users anyway - far too many holes.
