Title: The Wife Thinks
Post by: Johnboy0811 on 11 November 2008, 21:36:43
The wife wife and the Mother in law reakon I'm sad for signing up on this forum. When I asked them why their reply was that "its only a car why do you men get so excited about them". Now I don't know about some of you guys but I take pride in my motor and she is always as clean as can be and I enjoy talking/meeting with other people with the same intrests.

Funny thing is going back about 7 years ago when I owned a suped up Rover she never said no to coming down the cruise and when I mentioned that fact she just said "thats a diffrent thing all together".
Is there anyone else here that gets a bit of ribbing for have an intrest?

John  :D

P.S. And I have just made my first purchase from the oof shop a tax disc holder and a sticker for the back window.

Mine used to complain about me spending time on the laptop in the evening, and have been called sad for spending so much time on here. ::) ::) ::)

I partly resolved the problem by buying her a laptop for Christmas, last year, hardly moaned since as she gets hers out when I get mine out..... :y

my mrs was just the same & telling me to scrap it due to the inherited g/box fault issue & the other problems along the way, but now the cars done she loves it [especially the heated seats] but without the OOF support i would have been working blind, anyway if they think you are sad then next time they want a lift you know what to say :y

Glad i am not the only one getting a hard time :o My wife also thinks i am mad, but i say to her it is my hobby and i love the car.You could do worse things than enjoying your car.
I have also purchased a sticker for the back window and must say it looks great  ;)

My wife calls the forum dave  (like the tv channel) as a joke. She became more interested though when i told her i can get up to 40% off all year round (with abs card)

P.S. Just showed her the diamond encrusted merc. I reckon she is slowly coming round to our way of thinking

Lagging behind a bit tonight, been reading a long thread, poor guy. :(

My primary worry is if she decided to log on, nearly happend recently as I had my daughter on OOf, on swmbo's laptop, playing with one of those daft games, she went to bed leaving OOF open :o :o :o

What can I say as one of those swmbo's that used to wonder what on earth their other half was up to spending so much time on here lol.

Now I spend just as much time on here, am being trained as a mechanic on Omega's and well, my hands are never gonna be the same lol (had to go to a meeting today with rather stained hands lol), and well I think everyone knows about that day when I managed to buy three Omega's at once.

Just goes to show, its never to late to be converted he he!  I reckon u blokes need to sit there giggling at what's on here.., that's what drew me in.., sheer jealousy of my other half having a good time on here :P

My SWMBO thought I was very sad... Even moaned a little about going to a meet... About 12 hours after arriving she started talking about the next one!

She hasn't joined yet but keeps threatening to!

Send her over to me, I'll tell her its fun :P  Before u know it, we'll have to start up some sort of Creche arrangement at these meets (not for the men)

 :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

OK, I change my mind about that, just turned round and said to JueV6.., 'U want to read this thread'?

And looked at him trying to swallow a mouth so full of ice cream he couldn't actually close his lips properly, let alone try and make an understandable answer.

GROSSS!

i did get a bit of stick when i came on here at first, but ive learnt so much, not just cars either. ive had a gander on a few car sites to see what there like but this is the tops. some great banter and a good giggle in all.

im now getting a bit of stick over my obsession for my new interest, namely golf. me and the boy are real hooked on it, hes been having lessons for 6months, im learning now too, next yr we shall be having a few weekend golf breaks  ;) shame he cant get a round in yet, 6yrs to go  :( ;D ;D ;D
