For those in the area I have just heard that XH558 will be departing Farnborough at 12:30 and heading to Brize Norton.

Mrs. KW is up at the gliding club with some sources of inside information. Problems with the APU today so it's getting rescheduled for tomorrow. Should be doing a flypast at Lasham apparently.

hmmm whats the odds of being able to get near the runway and take a video of the take off? Have to be at work for 2 but might be worth a look... What you reckon? Ive been to the air show but ive not tried to view from outsid with the plane spotters, obviously, but this is worth a look if poss.

In Farnborough I would head for Fleet road or somewhere in Long Valley. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=farnborough&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=33.626896,56.601563&ie=UTF8&ll=51.267984,-0.801444&spn=0.012969,0.027637&t=h&z=15A few public car parks round there although tree cover might be a problem in places. Either that or go up onto Caesar's camp where you can look straight down on the whole airfield but it's a bit of a yomp from any parking area.

There's always the top of the multi-storey car park in Fleet. That's where I'd be if I hadn't decided on a last minute WFH. ::)

Rumour control says same time today. Farnborough take off then Lasham, doubling back to pass NE of Basingstoke then High Wycombe, Northampton. :-X

Has it gone yet?
I have not heard anything here not far from Lasham & would expect to

Yep. It passed Lasham at about 1305 hrs. in the end after a delayed takeoff. Rolled in quite low from the West, South of the airfield, trailing black smoke, of course, did a nice graceful 90 degree turn to the right over the airfield showing off its' shape and climbed away to the North. :)

Will have a look and see if I have any pictures of publishable quality later.

Give us everything Kevin.  It's fantastic the old dear is flying again.

I was an apprentice at Rolls Royce Bristol when she did a minimum altitude flyby over the factory on her farewell tour.

Absolutly bloody awsome.

Almost as good as when we got our Concorde back 5 years ago.

Sadly not as I was at work (although only about 15 or so miles away).....it was taken by a 'contact' of mine on the ground!
