Title: Bought some projector headlights on ebay and.....
Post by: RichB on 13 November 2008, 15:30:28
Bought some projector headlights on ebay and.....

....they are both broken  >:(

Took them out of the boxes, they were wrapped in loads of bubble wrap so cant have been damaged in the post.  Both headlights are broken inside, the brackets on the adjusters are broken on both of them!  To say im fed up is an understatement.  They were lised ad very good condition and fully working, neither of which are true.  I am hoping that they redeem themselves by offering me a full refund and collection but more than likely they will try and screw me over.

I have emailed the seller asking for a refund and collection, I a not prepared to pay postage back as they were clearly miss advertised and according to the sales of goods act any damage is the sellers responsibility.

I was really looking forward to having some better lights, I am now stuck with the crappy yellow ones ive got on now :(

Cheers,

Richard

That stinks mate. Are you totally sure they couldn't have been broken in transit? Though having said that, the seller should always make sure it's wrapped well before dispatch. Did you pay through Paypal?

Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with ebay :( If the seller does not refund or supply with a replacement if you report it to ebay themselves they will assist in getting a refund it happened to me once 5 days later the seller offered me a full refund :)

Broken adjusters are a common problem. The Seller may not even have realised that they were broken. It happened to me as well when I bought one from a fellow OOF member who was unaware of the fault

I wonder if it is possible to make GRP replacements?

If someone wants to send me a set of insides I could investigate

They always fail, and cheap sh1t aftermarket ones on e-bay are poor build quality.

Richard,

I've been in the same situation myself so I sympathise. I'm now on my third or fourth (I've lost count!) set which came from MutantCav so now I've got a decent set to fit, thanks Chris :y Persevere you'll get there in the end. Try posting an ad in the For Sale or Wants department on here, at least you'll be sure to get a decent set??

Marky Mark give me a shout if you get any decent ones  :y

Also as a quick update.  The seller has agreed to give me a refund including postage but not to pay for the lights to be returned.  I have sent another message saying that according to the business seller regulations for auction sites that it is their responsibility to pay the return postage, so will have to see if they are willing to pay it.  I think its fair, im only asking them for half the postage money they charged me to send them out!

Cheers,

Richard
