Hi all
How much do you think I could get for my Omega?
It failed mot on emissions & rear coil spring, also has a misfire which may means it needs a new cat! The garage have quoted me £350 including a new mot but I can't aafford that this eime of year !!!
Have rang a scrapyard & they offered me £50 !!
Btw its a 99 V 2.0 GLS auto with 174000 on the clock !
Seasons Greetings

To be honest you wont get much more than that i`m afraid.
Best you`ll get is £150 - £200 if your lucky.
If you have the space.....break it !

Agreed, sadly its a 2.0l with significant mileage (2.0l good for around 200k), and no MOT.
Its a buyers market at the moment as well.

Cheers for all your help guys,I really dont want to get rid of her if I can help it. Am a bit worried though cos I'm starting it every day now but there is a really strong smell of petrol,no idea where its coming from. It doesn't smell while running but after it's switched off ! Very overpowering though. Have looked under the bonnet but doesnt smell of petrol so any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

If you need a car you aren't going to find one for £350 anyway. So it makes sense to get the Mig fixed up.
But think about a 2nd hand cat at about £50 and a 2nd hand spring for next to nothing. Fit them yourself. Neither are too much fuss to fit.

TWO springs
do a full service Vauxhall oil with a trade club card, clean all the breathers, replace air filter, then Italian tune up - quite possibly not even need a cat.
